Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), who was also a part of the interview, explained how seven U.S. embassies have been lost under Biden’s leadership, which he said has “never happened” in U.S. history. ??? What does this even mean? For example, the US has suspended in country embassy operations in Afhganistan, but consular affairs in Afghanistan is mainly covered from the embassy in Pakistan. We have not "lost" the embassy.

If people liked Biden's gaffs, she might be the most suitable candidate to be able to fulfill everyone's need for a good chuckle.

I love my intestinal parasites. I have given each of them a name. We share everything, from food, to - most importantly - a deep and abiding hatred of Donald Trump. #LetParasitesVote

@jon-nyc said in The person in charge of nuclear waste in America: Right. It probably made sense to slap him on the wrist the first time. But the third? Seems absurd. Though maybe the victim accepting the apology and forgiving him carries weight in VA. Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t think he was actually caught for the first 2 until he got busted for the third. Police saw the news of the third incident and were able to put his face and name to older cases? In that type of situation, it’s not like a 3 time loser.

Gave you the answer recently: https://nodebb.the-new-coffee-room.club/post/285712 There are federal rules on what can be done with leftover campaign funds after a candidate bows out. See https://www.investopedia.com/articles/markets/042716/what-happens-campaign-funds-after-elections.asp Among the "permissible uses" is this: Unlimited transfers to a local, state, or national political party committee like the Democratic or Republican National Committees.

On a related note, there's a 3-episode series on Hulu about octopuses. Not the best I've seen, but still worth a watch. The documentary comments that most octopuses live only about 8 years. Once they're born, they have no interactions with their parents, so they learn everything on their own. They showed an octopus using a clam shell as a shield - tools.

Someone has to manage the flow of millions of Chinese spies walking across our borders. Cuba would be a convenient location.

True. And to be fair, Trump’s shenanigans (not accepting his loss) and statements (killing political rivals, hypothetically) aren’t helping his cause. Still… the 2028 election will go on like normal. Democracy continues.

If they honestly George Washington would have been upset by depriving dirty old men the chance to creep all over 18 year olds rather than 21 year olds, they might be reading the Constitution a little "liberally". As soon as somebody says "It's unconstitional" in about 90% of cases you just know they're trying to do something that makes no fucking sense whatsoever.

https://www.space.com/gravitational-waves-lunar-year-cosmic-clock-antikythera-mechanism Fresh research about ripples in the fabric of spacetime suggests a nearly 2,000-year-old cosmic calculator followed the lunar calendar instead of the solar one. The hand-powered "Antikythera mechanism" was retrieved in pieces from a sunken shipwreck in the Aegean sea in 1901, sparking more than a century of research into how this device was made — and why. The box-shaped mechanical computer used gears and dials to track ancient astronomical events such as solar eclipses and the movements of planets. Now, researchers are using cutting-edge work surrounding gravitational waves, which are ripples in spacetime sparked by events like black hole mergers or collisions between stars, to help uncover the mechanics of Antikythera's Ancient Grecian gears. (The device is named after the Greek island near where it was found.)
