Because there’s nothing to read of any substance on any of the pages between the book’s front cover and back cover.

https://fortune.com/2025/09/30/what-happened-soybean-farmers-argentina-china-scott-bessent-phone-texts/ According to a photo of a private text on the phone of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Argentina responded to the treasury secretary’s $20 billion bailout by turning around and removing its export taxes on soybeans and striking a huge new deal with China. That diminished the price of U.S. soybeans and weakened U.S. trade leverage with China, which immediately pulled out of its existing arrangements with soybean farmers in America’s heartland. The photo taken by Angelina Katsanis for the Associated Press last week shows Bessent reading a text that appears to be from Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins. “Finally—just a heads up, I’m getting more intel, but this is highly unfortunate,” the text said. “We bailed out Argentina yesterday and in return, the Argentine’s [sic] are removing their export tariffs on grains, reducing their price, and sold a bunch of soybeans to China, at a time when we would normally be selling to China. Soy prices are dropping further because of it. This gives China more leverage on us.” [image: AP25268801206056-e1759238604667.jpg?w=1440&q=90]

Aikman thinks the over-officiating made the product garbage. Maybe he was upset that it made it impossible for him to be an entertaining color guy. But at least this complaint was interesting. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/troy-aikman-slams-officiating-during-broncos-penalty-flag-filled-rout-bengals

@Horace said in Woke right vs woke left: "Both sides are equal" is a hobby horse of one of our remaining posters, and has been for many years. LOL (but I guess this shows that I do read teh posts and do not have anyone on "block"!) 555

14m is too long for me but I saw a video clip that showed this mayor chastising a citizen who was complaining about naming a street after a terrorist. I had a similar reaction to Horace, it seemed really bad but I couldn’t tell how much selective editing had happened. It cut between multiple cameras.

The worst naval mishap in American history. 1923. Seven US destroyers crashed into the California coast on a foggy night. Because they were all folllowing the lead ship which made an error in navigation and smashed at full speed into a rocky coast, and one after the other they next ones came flying in. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Point_disaster

@jon-nyc said in So what did you do today?: @89th said in So what did you do today?: I put up Halloween decorations today. You’re one of them. I normally put them up October 1, but it was such a nice weather weekend we did it a few days early. I'll hang Christmas lights in November but they absolutely do not go on until after Thanksgiving dinner at night. Then they stay on until 12 days after Christmas.

We've also found that the supposed panacea for taking the profit out of illegal drugs, legalization, doesn't work. At some point the purveyors need to be either eliminated or scared enough to limit their activities.
