Our problem is no believable source.
Do you miss the day when Obama announced "we got Bin Laden" on TV and the world just believed him?
I didn't really believe it until it was verified by DNA. I feel similarly here, but no DNA applies.

Hard comparison. There was no doubt in my mind when Obama said we got Bin Laden. If Trump said the same, I would believe him too since it's pretty clear whether we got an individual. But in this case about destroying a nuclear facility 80 meters under ground, I very much do not trust what Trump says based on his very consistent track record of lying and exaggerating. I think we made that point a few weeks ago here, that Trump will be hard to trust on war matters, and we're seeing it here. I know one thing... it would be awkward as shit if footage is released of Fordow still operating.

That being said, if we dropped 14 MOPs on the target, I'd have to imagine most of the internal infrastructure is a pile of collapsed rock now.

Why do I feel like Trump is about to get rolled?
Rolled in what way(s)?
I purposefully wasn't specific. In all the ways one can get rolled.

Reminds me of Jack Dawson, who saved Rose in all the ways a person can be saved.

It seems possible that we dropped the bombs into rock, and that the explosions were mostly contained by rock.

I think this thread presents a good opportunity to reflect on Titanic, the movie, not the real event, which was comparatively boring. It is good to remind ourselves of the power of love, and that rich white males are such douchebags. Carry that thought with you always and you will be saved.

There are also questions about that new ultradense concrete, though how much could have been poured between levels in the few years since it was developed is questionable.

You know, it's this type of Titanic movie analysis that really keeps me coming back to the internet.

It comes down to how deep/reinforced they were. Really the latter. The Iranians were aware of the (published) specs of the MOP and were trying to upgrade the concrete to that it couldn't go as deep. That would be one way the underground facility could have survived. Again, though, who knows?

Fordow is one thing, but it's also true they now know that Israel is quite capable, and willing given the incentive, to crush their defenses and economy at will.

If America and Israel just pretended to surrender to a retarded country, would it actually feel bad? Does letting a five year old win at checkers feel bad?

Iranian authorities have carried out a wave of arrests and multiple executions of people suspected of links to Israeli intelligence agencies, in the wake of the recent war between the two countries.
It comes after what officials describe as an unprecedented infiltration of Iranian security services by Israeli agents.
Authorities suspect information fed to Israel played a part in a series of high-profile assassinations during the conflict. This included the targeted killings of senior commanders from the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and nuclear scientists, which Iran attributes to operatives of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency working inside the country.
Shaken by the scale and precision of these killings, authorities have been targeting anyone suspected of working with foreign intelligence, saying it is for the sake of national security.
But many fear this is also a way to silence dissent and tighten control over the population.
