Is anyone tracking DOGE lies?

Well, hot damn and hallelujah!!
I want all kinds of stuff I can't pay for! Now I know I can spend money I don't have and buy whatever I want.

And why would you ‘know’ that?
Seems like a huge non sequitur.

No, it's just common sense.
One shouldn't spend money A) you don't have, and B) you cannot pay back.
No matter how badly you want ______.

That is common sense.
But I still don’t understand your post as a response to mine. In what sense was I implying otherwise? Just because I called Elon out for his obvious lie doesn’t mean I think the current trajectory is sustainable. The world contains expenditures that are neither fraudulent, wasteful, or affordable.

Because Elon is right. We're $2T in the hole. That's abuse, pure and simple. We're digging a hole where debt payment is going to swallow a massive portion of the budget and truly needed programs will be curtailed or ended.

He didn’t say ‘we have a 2T deficit’. That would have been a factual albeit banal observation. He said we have 2T of waste and fraud. He knows otherwise.

If it's in the red, it's waste, fraud or both.
Unless you wish to not equate incompetence with waste.

Either that or it's submerged under a couple of gallons of Kool-Aid.

OK, peanut.
You fix the problem. What's your solution?

It isn’t by cutting waste and fraud. That won’t get you anywhere near where you need to be.
I’ve written often about (literally) the only way to fix it. A bipartisan sustained agreement where the pain is shared and both sides own the pain and continue to defend it regardless of who’s in office.
Yeah I don’t see that happening any time soon either.

Stop being dishonest about fraud, and address the actual problem. And speak to the other side, and then maybe even listen to them.
A little bit of honesty about the situation would be great, from both parties.

The only way I see it happening is if Trump gets his name on it, not a bad idea actually. Call the Trump Country Savior act or something and let it be set in stone for 20 years. It’ll slowly save the country and he’ll headline it!

OK, let's just keep lying about how it's the government employees on the take, and security scroungers and dead Democrats. Find somebody to blame, and move on, in other words.

Yeah it’s bad. How can he be so smart and so dumb.
I had just made that comment about the survey claim in the DOGE interview thread.

Musk literally never said that the National Park Service paid that money. But it's interesting that in order to dunk, this guy felt the need to reframe Musk's words slightly. Later in the interview one of the DOGE guys mentioned that it was connected to the Dept of the Interior, which I'm sure has a larger budget.
