I don't know that the videos I saw were particularly 'woke', more like him trying to be all cool and young and innovative.
You say that like there's a difference.
Of course there is. It's not about whether he's woke or not, it's about him being young and arrogant. One of the Trump boys could easily have made the same mistake, and they're not exactly woke.
I doubt the Trump boys would go around making fun of old white military officers and their fuddy duddy ways.
I don't think anybody not captured in some part by progressive culture, goes around using the word "white" pejoratively. Like apparently your new boss does.

Maybe not make fun but subject them to unwarranted derision as happened to H. R. McMaster, John Kelly and James Mattis.
The Trump crowd/boys are every bit as losthesome as their left wing opponents in this regard.
-
I think there's a real danger of turning every bad thing into being about wokeness. This is about people ignoring safety protocols, and people have been doing this sort of thing for centuries. Don Blankenship of Massey Energy is a good example, and you couldn't find a less woke individual. Scott of the Antarctic also springs to mind, although at least he wasn't taking unsuspecting tourists along with him.

You can think what you will about that criticism, but by no principle is military immune to critics. What people should in principle be immune from, is criticism based on their skin color.

I agree that the 'woke' thing is a sideshow in this case. This failure was about engineering hubris.

I don’t believe that is limited to the left or wokeness. It stems from ignorance and fear and there is an abundance of both of those irrespective of ideology

I remember seeing this a while back. The Titan(ic) is shown at 3:30.

So even if they find them…

That's sort of what @Klaus was alluding to. Even if found, actually bringing it to the surface in time is a daunting task. Does the Titan even have any kind of rescue-attaching thingamabobs?
-
I'm fairly confident the Titan will never be found. It took forever to find the Titanic.
Unrelated, how are squids not crushed to death at that depth? (Answered it as I typed this, google says its because creatures like that are made mostly of water and/or do not have air that can be compressed in)

That’s because it took us forever to develop and deploy the technology to find it. Once that technology was available - thank you, Cold War era investment and engineers - it was just a matter of time to hone the skills to deploy it for archeological endeavours.
We have the technical means to locate Titan. Curiosity as well. I am sure there will also be the investment to make it happen.
-
I think we can find it.
But should we attempt to raise it?

Depends on how soon we can find it.

At least they stopped short of saying "Let them die."
But altogether, those donations are consistently Republican and include George Bush for President in 1979, the Illinois Republican State Central Committee in 1980, Citizens to Elect Rick Larsen in 2022, and friends of Mike McGavick in both 2000 and 2005.
Okay, these people need to be mocked mercilessly.

I too am sure we will locate it or what’s left of it. Don’t wish to speculate as to when.
As to should we attempt to raise it? Good question. I believe though the curiosity at numerous levels will insist on it if practicable. The desire to answer the how and why surrounding this incident will be just too intense.
