I have weird dreams all. The. Time. Last night, I met Jordan Peterson on a pirate ship. Like, it was still modern day—he was in a suit—but we were on a historic pirate ship. We started talking about surgeries, and it turns out we had the same procedure done: we had something removed through our back. (I forget what it was except to say outside of dream-world it was definitely nonsense.) He had something about it he wanted to show me, so he took his shirt off and showed me this massive, gnarly scar that ran over the course of his back. But that wasn't the weird thing. The weird thing was his back tattoo. It was ginormous, from his shoulders all the way on downward. It looked very much Escher's lizard tessellations, except really cubist, like if Picasso did them instead. The tattoos moved like the Illustrated Man. Then I woke up. I usually don't share these things.

@George-K said in Phillip K. Dick foretold it: Using our algorithm, you can say that next Wednesday, on the intersection of 37th Street and Southwestern Avenue, there would be homicide. Somebody who understands this stuff better than I would have to comment, but: Say there's a perpetrator, Joe, who commits liquor store robberies. He's never caught in the act. His modus operandi includes leaving a dandelion at the scene (because Joe is a little weird). So there's a new liquor store robbery and the police find a dandelion. Within minutes they track down Joe, who doesn't have a useful alibi. They arrest him -- success! Only it turns out that an enemy of Joe's set him up, doing the heist and leaving the dandelion. Joe goes to prison and the copycat goes free. This model didn't work so well for Joe, did it?

There is a lot like that that can and is done for indigent patients. Universal coverage addicts never want to acknowledge the huge amount of free or very low cost care that is provided on a daily basis. I think where we get into difficulty is with the working poor.

@LuFins-Dad said in Gary Busey charged with sex crimes: Too bad she was 16… Age of consent in Joisey is 16. That doesn't make it not a sex crime, but it makes it not a pedo case.

The only reason we still have it - and it's not really cable, it's inhouse wifi streaming - is to get local channels.

Three probabilities for Cheney: She is rewarded for her committee performance by a cabinet posting on a sinking Biden ship. It will be essentially meaningless, but it's a resume builder. She runs for office in Virginia, probably Northern Virginia or even possibly governor in that next election (govs only serve one term in VA) cycle. Trump wins the GOP nomination in 2024. Some of daddy's buddies fund a run as an independent for The Lizard, as she siphons votes off of Trump and insures his defeat.

@jon-nyc said in Pravda would be proud: As opposed to “Bidenflation”, which might still win the Economics Nobel. That's standard tribal wordplay. This narrative about lower gas prices is like a children's book about economics, except this children's book teaches dumb ideas in an infantile way. Most children's books teach good ideas in an infantile way.
