He should have been worth $100M. He was worth $18,000 when he died

@Jolly said in Someone here has a birthday: Or have his wife do it for you? Mrs. (I like my steak like a hockey puck) George is treating me with lasagna. Almost 46 years of marriage, and she's not the best cook (she'll even agree with my assessment). Should be...interesting.

If it had been in Chicago, they'd still be looking. Most recent stat I saw is that about 60% of murders don't even result in an arrest, let alone a conviction.

@George-K said in Is there *any* doubt he's running?: He already won there. No, I mean Floridians seem to require hearing messages more than once. Maybe it's the alligator pee in the water system.

So far, President Biden's treatment of mainland China has been pretty strong from my standpoint. Based on that, he is either not worried about what the banks may have, or he is willing to have his son face the consequences.

@LuFins-Dad said in 50 years: @Doctor-Phibes said in 50 years: I just got an alert that the woman who does my team's business support - all the admin, letters, company stuff, what used to be called a secretary, is about to celebrate 50 years with the company. 50 freaking years! Working with you the last few years has probably felt as long as all of the other year’s combined… Out of curiosity, is she in her sixties or her seventies? I've worked with her for 20 years - I started in April 2003. I think she started straight out of high school, so I'm guessing she's in her 60's. The funny thing is that she gets a company pension, and they match her 401K for 6%, so she'll probably take home more once she retires than she does now.

@Jolly said in The Best: Gentlemen, you don't eat at Commander's, you dine. Did you wear your greasy coveralls to your wedding? TBH, I don't actually wear any of that scruffy shit anyway if I'm going somewhere nice but I'm not wearing a jacket. At least they don't require a tie. Looking at the menu, it's not actually that expensive. It does look nice.

@George-K said in Is President Trump Actually the Dear Leader?: @Axtremus said in Is President Trump Actually the Dear Leader?: A democracy is not and should not be a personality cult. Nor should a representative constitutional republic... But, to your point. Yes, you've definitely had a couple of personality cults as President this century. Britain came within one letter of having a cult of a personality with BoJo.
