I have a buddy who works on the Hill, he very much agrees Katie Porter is not a pleasant person.

Before all y'all get too riled up by the Fox News/House GOP's angertainment segment, know that similar law already exists on the books, and that was passed with bipartisan support: "In 2002, Congress passed the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which guaranteed full legal rights to infants born at any stage of development." The law: https://www.congress.gov/bill/107th-congress/house-bill/2175 The Voxplanation: https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/policy-and-politics/2019/2/25/18239964/born-alive-abortion-survivors-protection-2020-sasse

@Jolly said in The Twitter Files #14: Russiagate Lies: It's not a simple belief, it's a religion. Go read what many on the Left write. Facts-be-damned, I know what's true! A dumber and more self-serving religion than the ones they have always looked down their noses at. Oh, the irony.

@Klaus said in Surgical Masks vs N95s: "noninferior" would include the possibility of being vastly superior. Of course. However, if the study showed something to be vastly superior, wouldn't they just say that?

I get that playing golf every day. Sometimes I get soaked, but I have a towel at home so it's no big deal.

Has Mr. Zelensky owned slaves? If not, there is no reason to keep him out.

@George-K said in The Magat virus spreads internationally: "The Magat virus spreads internationally" Er, perhaps that's true, but you got the direction of spread wrong. Trump always did rather resemble a South American despot.

Parler’s parent company has laid off a majority of its staff Parlement Technologies, the parent company of “censorship-free” social media platform Parler, has laid off a majority of its staff and most of its chief executives over the last few weeks. The sudden purge of staff has thrown the future of Parler, one of the first conservative alternatives to mainstream platforms, into question. Parlement Technologies began laying off workers in late November, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. These layoffs continued through at least the end of December, when around 75 percent of staffers were let go in total, leaving approximately 20 employees left working at both Parler and the parent-company’s cloud services venture. A majority of the company’s executives, including its chief technology, operations, and marketing officers, have also been laid off, according to a source familiar with the matter. George Farmer, husband to conservative influencer Candace Owens, is the current CEO of Parlement Technologies, Parler’s parent company. Farmer replaced Parler’s former CEO, John Matze, in May 2021, shortly after the app was unbanned from app stores. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal in February 2021, Matze said he was ousted for his desire to reshape the platform’s moderation policies. When asked for comment, an external PR representative who previously worked on Parler’s account informed us that she no longer works with Parler. Parlement Technologies did not respond to multiple requests for comment from The Verge.

Oh yes, my hubby wanted to do this. He had me reupholster his mower seat instead. Never again. I did a decent job of it, but never again.
