@George-K said in DEI Medical School Admissions- Great Read: I long for the days when there was no "essay" required. Have a good GPA in college. Do well on the MCAT. Don't fuck up the interview. That's it. Excellence? What a foreign concept...

Weird way to get injured - guy taking video fell into him. The mother of a friend of mine was watching her daughter run the Chicago Marathon . A runner came across the finish - and stumbled into her, knocking her to the ground. She broke a hip and as a result it mean that resulted in her not being able to retire on schedule. At least she could say it was a running related injury.

@Horace said in DeSantis’s next move: @Doctor-Phibes said in DeSantis’s next move: @George-K said in DeSantis’s next move: @Doctor-Phibes said in DeSantis’s next move: Mentioning Soros He's still alive? Who knew... Apparently, all of the people who lie awake at night convinced that he's secretly running the country. The following two things are facts Soros strategically prioritizes his political donations to get soft-on-crime DAs elected Thos DAs get elected, and proceed to be soft on crime Well then the Koch family should up the ante and target their hard on crime DAs to get elected.

I don't think things are as bad as we think. Isn't it true that crime rates in the US were a lot higher in the 1980's?

Yes very cool for sure. It’s been eons since I was in a low light position environment. In fact it was probably my cruise around Cape Horn I did in 2008.

It's not the burgers I mind as much as the awful fries. They're saltier than Lot's wife, and they don't fill you up at all. 5-Guys do awesome fries, but there isn't one near me any more.

They're planning to demolish the office where I work this August and replace it with an 800 million dollar mega-modern thing. I can't imagine them letting us work from home once this is done. I'm not particularly happy about this, particularly as they're sticking us in temporary offices until it's done.
