See the problem is I have no idea what their actual sexes are, I mean I figured out eventually it's a Mom and son who want to become Father and daughter, but even from the pictures, and the pronouns early on I was confused.

Perhaps simply considering them parent and child is enough.
As for having gendered pronouns as a language feature, it is what it is, but from my perspective rather unnecessary. :man-shrugging:
