I think there’s a good chance Scotus will strangle Warren’s baby, pro-life sentiments notwithstanding

@Doctor-Phibes said in Hay Cats! Your "Bring your friends to lunch" post of the day.: Since we got the second much larger dog, his main in life goal has been to ensure that she never takes ownership of any toys at any time. I too have a dog who's favorite toy is the one the other dog is playing with.

@Jolly said in Limed: Got a good buddy from Wolf Creek, West-By-God. Owns a piece of a mountain overlooking Alderson. He said by late spring, you could tell the heavy ramp eaters just by walking by them. I love the crap out of WV, but unfortunately I've spent more time in the panhandles than on the southern end. Been trying to plan a trip out to Dolly Sods at some point. Easily one of the craziest places I've ever hiked around in, and that includes the Presidential Range. A long while back, there was a storm that came out of Canada and brought lichen and other weird things you normally only see in tundra down onto the mountain there. The ground is blood red with the stuff in certain parts of the year. Once it gets close to winter, it turns pinkish if it doesn't get dumped full of snow. Speaking of snow, it's also one of those places that creates its own weather. I once went out there with a buddy in high school. We were only walking around for about 2 hours and in that time we had 80-degree sunshine, fog, rain and hail. When a storm formed, I had barely enough time to drop my shit, pull out a raincoat and put it on. It was that fast. And the storm's not just above you, it's all around you, too. The fog's actually part of the clouds and can get you just as damp as the rainfall. Lightning is scary up there. And there are pine trees up there with branches that only grew on one side of the trunk because of the wind. They're one of the few states that really do live up to their slogans.

I wonder what the revolution, after reparations are paid, will look like. Of course it will never happen, but the speculation could be fun.

My guess was it was a miniature house with pictures to make it seem like it's at least.... 3 times as big.

@Horace said in Racial Preferences May Be Ending, but the Fight Will Continue: My favorite point in McWhorter's piece, is that with economic preferences rather than racial, blacks would be helped even more. I assume economic preferences would be much more widely accepted by the left and right. It's almost painful how "common sense" that is instead of how much melanin your skin has. We will look back at the previous policy with judging eyes for how stupid it was.

South Carolina. It's slower than North Carolina. My BIL 's wife is an endangered species - a native Floridian. I tell her she has a Cracker accent. She rolls her eyes at me.
