    https://www.npr.org/2023/06/04/1171159008/eric-investigation-voter-data-election-integrity

Lengthy investigative report on red states leaving a voluntary interstate compact known by the acronym ERIC.

ERIC is an organization that allows multiple states to share their voter rolls, along with DMV records, death certificate records, etc. to compare data -- which then allows member states to detect whether a voter has moved across states and whether that voter has duplicate registrations across states, and whether "dead people" remain registered in voter rolls.

Many states' election officials embraced it and praised it because it's the only organization with the only technology infrastructure that allows them to effectively detect duplicate voter registrations across states and detect "dead people" remaining on voter rolls across states.

But election deniers post Trump's 2020 election defeat later started spreading misinformation about ERIC and many red states' legislators and elected election officials found themselves having to distance themselves from ERIC to cater to the election deniers, a voting block that can cost them their primaries.

Now we have many red states leaving ERIC in the name of defending election integrity.

@Jolly and @Mik -- Louisiana was the first one out of ERIC, Ohio has also announced that it's pulling out too.

All this can be traced back to one single snowflake’s fragile ego.

Don't give a shit. Tear it down.

GOP states quit the program that fights voter fraud. Now they’re scrambling.
