If you hate the country, no Anthem in the Capitol. If you don't hate the country, you have got to be kidding.

Well worth the time. We're just not aware that things like this are still taking place, even here. Lola's story after she came to live at the author's house rather reminded me of my beloved MIL, who became the woman of the house at thirteen, upon her mother's death. She could never be convinced to stop taking care of her family and found joy in the work of it.

Don’t be negative or I’ll start making jokes about that other great Doctor Who lookalike and American icon, Tucker ‘bow ties are cool’ Carlson.

@taiwan_girl said in Transgender kids - by the numbers: it seems like the issue gets so much more publicity than the reality calls for Note these statistics are two years old, and they show a rise in numbers every year. I have no reason to doubt that those numbers have increased in the last two years. With places like Boston Children's, Cleveland Clinic, and Northwestern having established "gender care," you can bet they have. THere's money to be made, after all. 25,000 dog bites? Perhaps they should get more attention. But, those are not actively promoted in the media and encouraged by group-think parents. They're caused by animals, BIRM.

@Axtremus said in Vrbo or AirBnB in Japan?: Also booked one night to stay at a "capsule hotel" just because I want to experience it. The capsule hotel's booking website is very Japanese (e.g., it expects the phone number to conform to Japanese phone number format, it requires that you provide a hiragana version of your name, it insists on a 7-digit Japanese zip code, etc.). So even though I slogged through the reservation website and got email confirmation for my reservation, there is still a chance that I may arrive to find that reservation invalid when I get there and I may to scramble to find lodging then. Stayed in them a couple of times, the last time in December. Fun to stay in, but if you end up trying to stay more than one night, most of the places will require you to leave between say 11 am - 4 pm so that they can clean them, etc.

Then I guess we have to agree to disagree. After all, what you call a revolution, I consider a colonial revolt.

We go to the library once a month with the kids, they check out about 20 books. My wife also uses the library to get e-books.

In further detail, 80% of the cost is fruit and 15% of the cost is tissues.

I doubt that these are really "children's" books. At Amazon they're listed as "rejected children's books." Struck me a a (poor) gag.
