$85k should be considered the new "poverty level" for a family these days.

@Doctor-Phibes I have the series on Blu-ray. Many of the main players are there on the screen. As a Canuck it’s hard to listen to Mountbatten justify Dieppe. Likewise, the interview with the unrepentant Otto Remer is nothing short of bloodcurdling. An excellent historical document in film.

I remember quite a few of those album covers. At least the Rock albums. Certainly the Stone’s “Get Yer Ya’s Out” . In high school it was a must have album, if for nothing else on it, Jumpin’ Jack Flash.

One can interpret a quote from Putin to be meaningful if it's at once true, and illuminating about how he might wage war against our culture.

I thought LinkedIn was Facebook for people you dislike but were forced to associate with due to work. I honestly had no idea people used it for anything else.

@George-K said in Nazi Imagery: My memory might be a little fuzzy on this one, so bear with me. In 1967, when I was in Austria with a school trip, none of the songs from “the sound of music “were available to be played or bought there. “Edelweiss quote was particularly problematic. My dad went on a walking tour in Austria in the 1950's. He said that the tour guide was named 'Adolf', and liked to be referred as 'Fuhrer'. My dad said the Austrians weren't subjected to the same level of de-Nazification as Germans were, which I guess could explain this humorous eccentricity.

@Jon said in Transplanted heart rejected because meds withheld.: @Jolly said in Transplanted heart rejected because meds withheld.: I also want to know why a prisoner was held for days on a misdemeanor. Because he’s a Jan 6th defendant black? If he'd been a January 6th guy, you'd be dancing in the aisles over his death

From the fact that the leftist mind virus has permeated the FBI and circa all institutions, it's not difficult to believe at all.

@Jolly said in You can only drink so much rum...: Only if they're from someplace interesting. American Samoa, for example. But the thread starter is more of a universal question...Would any of you take a job in a location like that? Especially if you have a family... Not now, but I definitely would have done when I was younger. I've emigrated twice to considerably less interesting places.
