In theory, that is kind of a good idea. The actual execution would never work. But, the idea that Italy has to do something is true. It will take "out of the box" thinking. I think that there is freedom of work movement across the EU countries. Maybe try some incentives with other countries in the former East Europe, etc. For example, in addition to a job, also provide them a house, each year they gain X% ownership as long as they are working in Italy, so after a certain number of years, they own the house for "free".

@Doctor-Phibes said in Big Money is coming to gender equality: This is what rich people do. If we want it to stop, then it's the system that needs to change. I agree with Napoleon on this matte; that the purpose of organised religion is stop poor people from killing rich people.

I think I’ve mentioned before how there was a good podcast interview about this with the (quitting) NY Times film critic: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/23/podcasts/the-daily/ao-scott-film-critic-american-cinema-movies.html

@Mik said in Finally some rain: Hopefully a good soaker. Been dry for over three weeks. Same here. We had tons of snow this winter so the initial thaw left some (finally) well-filled ponds, but it’s been seemingly dry for the past month+ with every scattered storm dodging us. Yesterday’s pop-up shower didn’t last long enough. Heck, there’s some dirt spots in our road from construction across the street from a few weeks ago…would’ve been quick to wash away in rain but, nope.

That’s a factor for a lot of people. But I wouldn’t say most. I never looked at the cost. If it had really interested me I’d have bought it.

You can freeze blood. At least the red cells and the plasma separate. We could do it thirty years ago. problem is, the red cells are in a glycerin solution(IIRC) and it takes a specialized (and expensive) washing machine to get them ready to transfuse.
