@Jolly said in Modern discussion in a nutshell: This kind of over-sensitivity to micro-aggression and immediate victimhood is a product of the megaphone that is the internet, which gives silly people a platform to influence the pudding heads among us. And we have a lot of pudding heads... Word on the street among the virtuous, is that the supreme court decision to allow religious people to decline to express themselves in ways that violate their religion, is tantamount to restaurants being allowed to not serve black people. That's the nuance-free cognitive level of the average leftist, captured by the good vs evil narrative of the day. It really does help to be stupid, when trying to fit in with any given prevailing group-think.

@taiwan_girl said in Legacy Admissions?: stipulation that they will get their money back if their son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter does not get accepted to the school. LOL Sure, for private schools, why not? You get what you pay for. Public schools might be different.

Yup, I am not sure how to stop it. Like Kluurs, I have been offered a free product or refund of purchase after I left a "5 star" review. The products were coming from China, so I dont think that they would be too fearful of such a law. But, hopefully it will have some impact.

You’d have to burn a pizza stove 849 years to equal one year of John Kerry’s private jet https://nypost.com/2023/06/26/green-madness-youd-have-to-burn-a-pizza-stove-849-years-to-equal-one-year-of-john-kerrys-private-jet/amp/

That was an interesting read.I was going to make a comment before I read this about the stock market rally. Time will see if it is going to continue. The US economy is like a huge cargo ship. You make a change to the steering and it will take a while for it to show up in the path of the ship. If this is a problem, it will probably start showing up right around the time of the election. LOL

Glad to hear the freaking Maine coon is back. It's awful when pets disappear and you don't know what happened to them.

This reminds me of the story about Colombia cultivating roses as a cash crop for export. At the time I belonged to Mercola's list. I was about to quit anyway, and did so when he complained about pesticide use or something connected to this. I was like, for christ sake, they're trying to wean off of coca, give them a break. I don't know what became of the roses experiment.
