Don’t know about the US but we have been making patio bricks and other high foot traffic ground covers here out of locally recycled tires for the last fifteen or more years. Fairly well established business that exports products internationally.

The poor protestors asked the judge if they could go back to Texas and Zoom in for their hearings. He said nahh..you hang around. The gall. You shut down a bridge, inconveniencing hundreds of commuters, then you want to go home because it would be more convenient? Then they were told to stay away from that particular bridge, and they asked what if they needed to cross it? Judge said find another bridge.
