There’s also the “Duck Player” that plays YouTube videos, with NO ADS! You can set that to be your default viewer.

The YouTube no ads alone is worth the switch. I also don't get the MS Tabloid News page when i open a new tab.

Safari’s been my default browser since, forever.

Never cared for the U/I of Chrome, and the Edge stuff, as @Mik says is annoying as hell.

Brave is nice, but I still get some ads.

Safari’s been getting sluggish - perhaps because of the extensions I have loaded (Ad block, translate, and … DuckDuckGo essentials.

DDG gets rid of all that carp.

I guess I might try it. My son gave me a new Mac as a present, and I hate the way when I try to buy something, I'm flooded with alternate possibilities etc.

I should open up a separate thread as I get up to speed on my new shiny store-bought Mac laptop. At this point, I find a whole bunch of stuff I don't know what or why they all exist.

@George-K I may have to try it. I have also been using Safari for a long time. I use Duck Duck Go for my searches, but not for the browser itself.

Apparently there’s no “reader mode” with DDG - unless I’m missing it.

                I looked for it too.

One thing I do like is it tells you how many trackers it blocked from sites you go to. I guess NODEBB has a bunch of them.

Unreal the number of trackers DDG browser blocks.
