@Doctor-Phibes said in American Thinker du jour - Who Cares? Edition: That being said, I would fully support combining Olympic Golf with archery or shooting or maybe even lawn-mower racing. Nah, try golf + bull-riding. Both bulls and golf belong in a pasture.

@jon-nyc said in This ought to be interesting...: I saw that this morning and think it’s too good to be true. Nah, it was leaked on FOX last night by Kellyanne.

Such a cool video of a wild place! I think Sarah Blueparrot has been there. I know she's been to Uzbekistan and I think Tajikistan.

Sometimes I parody a pro-Trump perspective here to comport with TG’s characterizations of Trump supporters. Other times I parody TDS perspectives, to comport with actual TDS patients who actually exist here and everywhere else.

Trump foundered in the early days after taking office last time. What will it be like this time, in terms of efficiency? I think Trump was ignorant, profoundly so, of the wheels and bureaucracy of Washington. He thought that he could rely on well-entrenched government employees to do what he thought was the right thing. Was it Truman who commented on how impotent the office of President really is? ("He thought") Scarf-lady Birx proved him wrong, and she documented that in her memoir. "We did whatever we wanted, not what POTUS wanted."

He didn't have the best of lives after the war. Sure, he made over 30 movies, but he was not good with his money and suffered a lot from what they called "battle fatigue" in those days. He was very public about his mental problems, advocating for better treatment for soldiers and was successful in getting additional programs for the VA. He slept with a loaded M1911 .45 under his pillow, until he died.

For a wonderful moment I thought Weiner was a possible Biden replacement. I would pay good money to see him and Trump go head-to-head (no pun intended) in a debate on sexual impropriety.

Just another thought. It has been a couple of years since I have been in India, but at that time, I thought it was the country with the greatest distance between the rich and the poor. The rich were super super rich and the poor were super super poor. I don't think that has changed at all.

@LuFins-Dad said in You don't hate the media enough: WTOP News Radio in DC just ran a minute long piece about warning the media about dangerous rhetoric by Trump supporters on social media and was causing officials to warn the media to take extra safety precautions. They then did a 30 second piece about the dangers posed by alt right groups looking to retaliate. We have to recover after our long night of rioting after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Who is going to pay for rebuilding all this downtown districts?

5 best Trains (per a vote in Travel and Leisure) Our readers loved five North American and European trains that range from multinight journeys to single-afternoon rides. Returning to our list this year are Rocky Mountaineer (at No. 3), a train with multiday routes in the Canadian and American Rockies, and British Pullman, A Belmond Train (at No. 2), which offers tours across the U.K., from sightseeing day trips to afternoon tea trains to murder mystery events. "It is all about the scenery," wrote one reader about the former. But there are three newcomers to the list, including the Napa Valley Wine Train, at No. 4, and the Royal Canadian Pacific, at No. 5. As for our readers' No. 1 train, read on to find out which European icon topped the list.
