Yup, the "middle" type of politician is hard to exist in today's world. Looks like it would be an interesting reading. Somewhat related, was looking through Chicago Tribune newspaper and there was an article about a former governor of Illinois named Jim Edgar who just died. He was one of the most popular governors in Illinois ever, but said in a article that he "would have trouble winning a primary in todays world" Edgar’s fiscal conservativism and moderate stance on social issues, including his support for abortion rights, for years made him the template for a successful statewide Republican candidate. But in recent years, that template has been ignored by many hopefuls who wound up going down in defeat. @Doctor-Phibes I do admit though that in when I saw a picture of his face posted in the news, it was immediately familiar. No idea from when or from what source. It was just familiar. Possible that he was on an interview or member of a panel discussion I watched sometime in the past number of years.

It's hard to take anybody seriously who thinks that Tommy Robinson is part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

That’s behavior that a polite society is supposed to frown upon. Not at all. A ball lands in the stands, it’s not “oh you go first” it’s fun to see who can get to it first. It landed in his row… in fact I think it’s a bigger sin to go into someone else’s row to get a ball, if there is any sin here at all!
