Sad to see that. I enjoyed them - funny, self deprecating musicians - and they got some major talent to play with them.

I'm not an expert on this, but my feeling is that we have in some ways reached "Peak LLMs" already. LLMs are inherently limited by their probabilistic nature. They just go by likelihoods of "which word is likely to come next, given what was written before". These systems have no clue whether what they generate is true or complete BS. It's amazing how far this gets you, but I think these systems need to be augmented by forms of symbolic reasoning to make real progress. One reason why ChatGPT et al are so good at mathematical tasks is that most tasks we can think of are not genuinely new but just variants of tasks where many solutions exist in the training set. If you ask them something genuinely new, they usually fail.

Brown. The GOP has put up empty suits for three elections now. Moreno is almost as insubstantial as Mandel. Can’t wait for the debate. Moreno’s only position is he’s with Trump. His campaign ads are a series of outright lies about Brown that Brown is now slaughtering in his ads. Brown is a serious guy and a tireless advocate for Ohio, even if I don’t love all his policies. The good outweighs the bad. I’d love to vote for a Republican and would have if Dolan or LaRose had won the primary.

Based on the forecast, we could end the month with zero rain ( actually 0.06 inches) That is very bad, I had my lawn reseeded at the beginning of the month , it is costing me a fortune to keep it watered

Takes a little longer than that. Misplaced faith dies hard.

I don't understand why there should be no tax on profits made trading in precious metals. The metal's value has no real connection to the legal tender aspect.

@Jolly said in On site > Hybrid > Remote: That's because if you want more money in government, you need the title and X number of TO's under you. So there is a very strong push to "create" managerial slots that aren't really required. You shuffle papers, attend meetings and do intense planning before lunch or after your nap. Hey, I resent that. I can't post more now, I've got a planning meeting.
