Ben made an observation today, about being on Jewish holiday and unplugging from the net and tv. When he did plug back in, the first thing he did was to check on Trump's condition...Ok, Trump is doing ok and that's news. And then, he was deluged by a tsunami of articles on all things that in the end, weren't really important at all.
He made the observation that America is living inside a reality show, driven by the 24-hour news cycle and that's not good for anybody. We get caught up in the unimportant and don't give enough thought to what is important.Which is an interesting observation for someone who makes his living doing commentary...

A bajillion percent right.

Agree. I get the newspapers and go through them, and allows me to catch up on the news without continual bombardments. One day at a time.

+1,000 (like many of us have said)
I'll go a step further and believe the incessant hype/media/social bombardment online and on TV is to blame for most mass shootings and violent protest/fighting amongst the citizenry.
