@mik said in White Adjacent?: In any event they seem determined to refuse to focus on what really builds success. Hint: It ain't race. Sometimes It is getting to be the rare tv advertising that doesn't feature a person of color. A person without color seems to get used as half of an interracial couple.

Washington’s marine corps marathon ends at the Iwo Jima memorial in Arlington. It’s a moving place.

I didn't realise they were still in business. One near us went belly up about 10 years ago, and the store is still standing empty.

Kind of a fun "thought" question. There is a website somewhere I came across long ago that let you put in certain limits (age, weight, height, overall health, etc) and then calculated how many 3 year old kids you could take on at once! LOL

@george-k said in Bear Hug: @Klaus @klaus said in Bear Hug: I've read too many stories where wild dangerous animals have been kept for many years and they were always peaceful, but then one day they snapped and killed their owner. Call me cynical or mean, but a wild animal stays a wild animal. Bears are not meant to be pets, and it's silly to risk ones life. Indeed. It's cute, but dumb AF and potentially dangerous as hell too. Look at SIgfried and Roy. Those were supposedly "tame" lions. I agree. We recently had a forum thread about chimpanzee who severely damaged his owners face by biting it. A wild animal is a wild animal.

Repeating the answer w/o Klaus’s symbols: 2 scientists. Both go in and see zero. One does 99 of his 100 full cycles, taking the number high. The 2nd comes in finally does his first write, replacing that high number with 37. 1st guy comes in for his last read and sees 37, leaves. 2nd guy does the remainder of his cycles, taking the number high again. 1st guy comes in, erases the high number, and writes 74 as his final write. As we discussed earlier, when you expand to 100 scientists just have them do all their 100 cycles after the final guy’s last read but before his final write.

The idea that a cash payout could somehow recompense for the evils done to my ancestors is pretty silly. On the other hand, I would accept a case of French or Italian wine, if anybody's feeling guilty.
