Yeah, I know. But it's just postponing the inevitable. The range has a number of things I don't like about it. Glass top is broken, knobs turn way to easily making it easy to turn the gas on accidentally. Now this.

The Trump standard deduction came just in time for us, as we get close to paying off our house. I think the highest itemized deductions we ever hit were $23-24k. I think the year before the new standard deduction we had dropped to about $19k. Our 2600 sq foot house, built in 2004, is worth maybe about $425,000. I thought I was rightfully grousing about our property tax bill, which still is less than $5k. You do need to remember we do not pay sales tax in Oregon, so that helps, but they just instituted a vehicle tax for purchases. Used to be that you would pay about $150 to license your new car. Now it is about $500 for a $20,000 car.

Good to know! I always donate something (usually via Goodwill) but never benefit from it because it never exceeds the standardized deduction ever since Trump raised it.

How is an analysis even needed? I thought it was pretty clear Trump was shooting the GA republicans in the foot. Maybe he's playing 5D chess and is really a Democrat who wanted to inflict as much damage on the GOP as possible before leaving office. Double impeachment, fractured party, unwilling to concede losing a re-election, losing control of the senate... Pelosi and AOC should hug this guy.

I keep a list on my iOS Notes app. It includes dates. I can open the app and decide what I want for dinner. Or see what’s aging out and plan a meal around it.

@axtremus said in Nancy Drew question: Thanks, @Catseye3. Since I have never read any Nancy Drew book myself, I appreciate reading your educated guess in this matter. Thanks! My guess is no for the originals and yes for newer stuff. As Nancy Drew often interacted with the Hardy Boys, I assume they were similar in style, and while there were sometimes mysterious supernatural seeming events in the books, they were always rationally explained in the end. I understand the new Hardy Boy TV series is different.

Next time you are in Amsterdam and have finished the rounds of the coffee shops and sex museum, a nice place to visit is the old Amsterdam cheese shop U can try different Gouda aged differently. Fun. And good for munchies after ahem...said coffee shops. But alas...still in pandemic. A trip to Amsterdam not in the near future for me.
