The guy in Pelosi's office

Like dozens of people charged with offenses related to the Capitol building protest, Barnett was ordered to remain behind bars in a D.C. jail with no chance to make bail even though he has no criminal record and faces no violent charges.
Detainees are held in solitary confinement conditions for 23 hours a day.
Attorney-client privilege also is nonexistent, Barnett and his lawyers, Joseph McBride and Steven Metcalf, told me. There is no privacy during discussions and video calls can take up to two weeks to schedule.

This I cannot support. No matter the what the accusations are, the accused must have habeas corpus, the right to council, and the right to a fair and speedy trial.
After 9/11 we took too many rights away from detainees. Prolonged detention without charge and without trial shall not be the American Way. This should be undone.

That's not American,
Indeed that is not American. This has been my view for many years, and I apply that also towards those held in the Guantanamo Bay detention camp without charge and without trial. It’s been almost 20 years since 9/11 and we still have something like 40 people locked up in Guantanamo Bay without charge and without trial.

You are probably right about the unlawful detention but I can’t help to feel some joy in the thought that this guy thought he was a famous genius and so proud of his accomplishment and then received the feedback he needed.
But hey he can still write a book, give speeches and even probably get a good go fund me going so I don’t think his life was ruined.

You have to be careful with a guy like that
He might take a selfie at any time with no warning.

I have to admit he took the anarchists playbook to a new level. The know it all said gee I’ll just storm the Capitol and sit in the Speaker’s office and prove to the world there is a different way to think about things and the people will celebrate me- and he was right.
He is now a symbol of the Right. Very successful mission.
