I've never carried a gun. I carry a box cutter. If I have to resort to pulling the box cutter out it means I can't whip your ass so I'll just lay your guts on the floor. But I support the right to own and carry guns 100%, and I've never felt any fear from someone who was carrying a gun. In fact, I feel safer when I know some of the people around me are armed.
Someone mentioned that Japan was a polite society even though very few guns were around. I'm happy for them. But this isn't Japan, and we aren't Japanese. It's an apples to oranges comparison. Besides, that's not even the point. The point is, back when our ancestors agreed to give power to a federal government, they made sure the government knew it was the people telling that government what it could and could not do, not the other way around. We do not have to get permission from government to own and carry guns. We even made the government put it in writing that we did not give it the right to tell us we couldn't. But somewhere along the way people (those on the Left) started screwing with the Constitution and now you have people out there who think government has all the power and our rights come from government. So they think government gets to tell us we can't own guns. And you have a lot of people who don't like guns advocating for this flip from the people being in charge to the government being in charge.
For this reason, and because people have seen fit to elect a senile old fool who kisses the Left's ass and has already said he's coming for our guns, I will be buying several guns soon.
