It was a nice Sunday afternoon read.
My MIL was famous in our family, as she saved almost everything. She even had a sack for the little green-covered wires that you use to tie the clear vegetable bags in the produce section of the grocery store. She never forgot the depression.
She was raised in Condon, Oregon. Even today, it is the middle of nowhere, flat eastern Oregon desert. Rough life. I could never figure out why people stopped in those regions on their way west on the Oregon Trail, and decided, "wow, this is it!"
