We always travel over Christmas and almost always travel over thanksgiving so it’s no big deal being just the three of us.

I’m happy to report that when I do see my sisters on thanksgiving every now and then it’s all fun and no drama.

Can’t say the same about in-laws. Though it’s not that bad now that the MIL passed

@Jolly said in The USDA Sweep:

The USDA is currently "sweeping" underutilized food from K-12 programs and transferring that food to food banks.

I talked to a buyer today, who lost 11 truckloads (450,000 pounds) of food...

Makes sense. I get the problem from the buyers end, but I hate to see the food wasted.

One of the things that has bugged me the most in the spring was the meal programs from the schools. When every school shut down, they decided to use the buses to deliver meals to the needy kids. Laudable... We often heard that the free lunch army school was the only meal these kids got...Then our local restaurants started providing lunches to needy kids (on top of the school programs)... Uhmm, laudable? Ok... Then the grocery stores hit me up for donations for their free lunch program... Then private programs... Pretty soon these kids were getting 18 meals a day....

Actually, I think the lighting in the background could help. The screen surrounded by all black can be a little jarring... This looks a little easier to watch...

You do realize that Biden didn’t win the election, Trump lost the election. 80% of the votes for Biden weren’t for Biden, just against Trump.

If you made the statement under oath, it's lying.

They never built up the personnel necessary. That’s the one big failing over the last 6 months. They should have been fast tracking nurses and medical students to be ready for the winter wave.

Hard to do, especially with medical students.

I didn’t mean bring med school students on as doctors, but surely they could be prepped to handle some nursing duties?

That's a George question, but my answer would be no, especially for anything under third year. I dealt with residents and very few interns.

Why is it a big deal if it generates false positive HIV tests?

You would never be able to identify true positive HIV tests? If there was no other vaccine, okay, but if there are alternatives...

I understood the problem to be temporary.

I have no issue with thin crust and Chicago Deep Dish usually sits on my tummy like a huge rock. Prefer Detroit style pan pizza.
