They aren't kidding anyone. Nobody at Apple works during the last 2 weeks of the year. Really, they just shutdown the whole place. I was an Apple developer for 13 years before I stopped in June. Every year they warn you that only emergency updates can be made during the last 2 weeks of the year, and those will be very limited. Since nobody seems to care very much, I assume most of the victims are, or were, evil. This could be a good thing if properly contained.

I have seen them in concert several times. I bet many don't remember that they were banned from the July 4th concert on the National Mall because they were not wholesome. Mr. Reagan corrected that mistake.
