OTOH, this legislation is little more than carbon virtue signaling, as the truck-idling environmental concern is not the 20-foot delivery trucks, but the long haul trailers that are parked on the roadsides and at truck stops that never turn off and idle 12-16 hours a day… They are idling for a different reason. That’s essentially that trucker’s home. Many have small sleeping compartments with refrigerators, tv’s, and such. That engine is powering their heat/ac, electricity for their fridge, TV, etc… The best answer for the problem is to get power stations set up at truck stops that truckers can plug into similar to RV’s at a camp sight. That would accomplish a hell of a lot more good and cost a lot less than building hundreds of thousands EV charging stations across the US…

Shhh. You dont add that part. Like any good public relation team, you only keep in the parts that fit your story. Even if they are opposite of what is really happening.

@Jolly said in America Was Wrong: But...If the guy had located the plant next to a major city sewage plant and he could get his sludge for free or maybe the sewer plant would pay him to take it, I think he could have broke even or made a profit, as long as oil was $65 (2015 dollars) a barrel or above. I know some people who have been involved with Diamond Green Diesel, which uses animal fat. I think their first plant was located next to a meat packing factory. Right now, they make about 500,000 barrel per year, pretty small by refinery sizes, but it is a start. (https://www.diamondgreendiesel.com/)

that is a cool thing. Even if this directly does not work, somebody, somewhere, will take a piece of this idea and modify it and so on

Watched the first three episodes. Not bad. Nice characters. Good action. The most annoying aspect of it is the music. Awful blues.

Also on Dorothy Parker and Coolidge: Parker is attending a dinner party with Coolidge and others. She says to Coolidge, "Mr. President, I made a bet with friends that I could get you to say more than two words." Coolidge replied, "You lose."

I very seldom agree with anything in The Atlantic, but this one resonates. Mandel is the emptiest of suits. All he has is ambition and shamelessness. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/11/josh-mandel-ohio/620550/

Except if you do this, even though the recipient will get it at 3:17am, the actual message will show the timestamp of when you clicked the schedule/send button. I think... last time I tried. Doesn't for me.Do you use Gmail or something else? The one time I tested this was using Outlook. Hey, why did it lightning/thunder outside right when I said that?

Funny you should post this... Had one my more favorite docs walk into the lab on Saturday. Guy is in his 70's, former triathlete, former general surgeon, does ER work now. Looks like an eagle with the surgeon Type A personality. Needed a favor, an off-books D -Dimer, cardiacs and a blue plate special. He woke up that morning in A-fib, called a cardiologist friend and now he just wanted to make sure he didn't have a clot before starting on some Cardizem. Hope it works for him.
