In the 90's, I used to spend quite a bit of time on the old sci.physics Usenet groups. There were some very odd theories put forward by a number of people who were convinced that they had it right where Einstein had it wrong. Generally, there wasn't much math behind any of the theories, which possibly made them more attractive than the stuff you actually have to study. After a while, it got a bit tiresome.

It is far smaller than you’d expect. It goes over a road that is the width of a military jeep from WW-2. I could easily grab both posts.

We are in a recession, and have been in one for a while now. Some shoes about to drop will make that clearer to those who say we arent.. For example.... mortgage companies have been laying people off left and right for almost a year, and now a wave of mortgage company bankruptcies are about to hit. Real estate sales are slowing way down, housing prices are dropping as time on the market rises. Interest rates are rising... and at the worst possible time. I think we are about to see the housing market implode.

BTW, the M40 the Marines used until very recently, was a production Remington 700, that was then gone over with a fine tooth comb by the best armorers at Quantico. That's not a huge operation. Maybe a bit more than three guys, but it ain't over six that get their hands on those rifles. We fought with those from Vietnam to Iraq. I had a friend (now deceased) that had sixteen confirmed kills with his.

@George-K Goofy statement by her about too many people. I only did one long distance trip by Amtrak and that was in a sleeper car (thanks again George for all of your advice and help on that trip!!! ) but I do not think that they allow "standers" on the train, right? And maybe the amount of passengers helped cushion her as she bounced around. LOL

Possibly. I think the article a bit disingenuous on how easy it was to commit somebody back then, but it's a fact people were institutionalized for longer periods in mental hospitals. Without the drugs we have today, a lot of people didn't get turned around to where they could function in society.
