She also says the economy was at a standstill, also completely untrue. The stock market had recovered all its losses and heading for record territory.

Good. This has been one of the best 'reparation' programs if the money is actually getting to the tribes and not funneled off.

Not sure what is guiding them. If they can win the primaries, even with the Dem's money, they can sure as hell win the general. They are making the exact same mistake they made in 2016 - assuming no one would vote for THOSE PEOPLE.

Wait…I thought us monkeys were the problem to begin with? One thing the article neglects to mention is the enormous amount of water it takes to grow almond trees. It’s staggering.

@George-K said in Can Trump win?: @xenon said in Can Trump win?: Putting every other fact about Trump aside. If he won, he'd still be President in 2028. He'd be 82. And that's the thing that people aren't talking about, but should. Legitimate point.

I'm not sure I understand the story. It seems to be the case that there is no criminal conviction for rape. So, from a legal perspective, no rape has taken place. If you read the story again but remove the rape part it doesn't sound so absurd anymore.

So all login services at any website then depend on Apple, Google etc.? Thanks, but no thanks. Big tech already has more control over our lives than they should. I rather continue to use passwords. I'd use these kinds of authentication if all required software were open source and runs locally on my device only.

@Jolly said in Question about bonds: Laddering TIPS would be great, but they don't issue them like T-bills. I was building a tips ladder over time, each year getting a new allocation of the 20 or 30 year at issue. I was trying to build an inflation protected synthetic pension of sorts. I abandoned it around 2013 when my health deteriorated. I started valuing simplicity (ie stuff R could understand and manage) over sophistication. At that point I sold the individual tips and just bought the vanguard tips fund.

From my industry guy, the difference is timing. When DJT got the Saudis to increase the oil supply it knocked down the price of oil and murdered off a lot of oil drilling and exploration in the US. It made a lot of investment in oil exploration in the US nearly untenable. Now, the Saudis get to reap the rewards of that. Mind you, he hates Biden - just noting that DJT was focused on getting oil prices down (laudable) but too low a price - and some people are forced to leave the market.

Every once in a while I'll skip a couple of days to have that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad look that was all the rage a while back. My one brother said, "yeah, that looks great if you're 35, but at a certain age, you just look look like a vagrant." I don't think I could ever do the real deal.
