$100 Million is a drop in the bucket compared to E&Y's $40 Billion annual revenue. These fines need to be a percentage of a firm's revenue rather than an absolute number.

@Jolly said in Stealth Omicron: Oh, I think the takeaway in the article is the COVID which is negative on PCR, let alone lateral flow. Right, Aqua? Could very well be. All I know is that I was sick as shit twice with a rather coincidental timeline. Blood antibody tests were also negative.

What Kluurs wrote. Depends on your listening habits. Vinyl’s great so long as you have a system that brings out its best. I prefer digital. I don’t listen to music, I play music . Quality over speakers is not a big deal for me although the thirty some year old system I have is not at all shabby. I still keep my old Rega Planar 3 turntable in storage downstairs in case I want hook it up again someday. Hopefully the kid hasn’t shanked the needle and cartridge - although am sure the magnets in the cartridge are well beyond their best before date.

I love the hot mustard. Keen’s dry hot mustard powder. Just add water and let it cure. Great with ham also delicious when mixed with strong horse radish as a condiment with prime rib beef. Love it!

@Mik said in A Clear and Present Danger?: Now, in my view, the Senate might be, next to the separation of powers and the electoral college, the biggest piece of genius in the Constitution. No. I'm still not sure direct election of Senators by the citizenry is a good idea. Yeah, appointments can lead to graft, etc., but I'm not sure that that wasn't a better way. the undemocratic Senate Isn't it funny how when that canard is brought up, everyone mentions Wyoming and omit Rhode Island, and Delaware?

@xenon said in Meanwhile, in Alberta...: Thanks all. @George-K the fancy animal is similar to when Aladdin makes his way to Agrabah when he becomes Prince Ali. The groom traditionally travels to the bride's home to marry her, and wants to "make an entrance" People rarely travel to the bride's house by animal anymore (outside of India the wedding venue is rarely the bride's house anyways) - but the tradition remains. Curiously - where I grew up the tradition more became a fancy car (Limo, Bentley, etc.), decorated with flowers or whatnot. @Jolly - no significance typically to the color. It can definitely be part of dressing well (neat folds, coordinated colors with the rest of the outfit, etc.). If it was always dark blue or orange - that just may mean he was a really devout Sikh (those are the Sikh flag colors). Orange.

@George-K said in Hay Cats! What day is it?: @taiwan_girl said in Hay Cats! What day is it?: What long tongues!! One of the nurses I used to work with, Becky, had a very long tongue. She could touch the tip of her nose, and higher with it. One day, a surgeon said to her, "Becky, you could make some woman very happy." He was just jealous.
