If the hunter can't use his big brain to make killing tools, then the tiger can't use it's claws and muscle. The fittest will win, that's the rule.

@Axtremus said in Why *not* to use a SSD for Time Machine Backup: Yes, mostly affect write speed, not so much on read speed I would think that's not a major issue in backup, particularly if incremental, such as Time Machine. Hybrid drive with smaller SSD + bigger HDD … for a while that’s the standard for iMacs. Even Apple stopped doing that now. I guess people just don’t want to deal with the mechanical failures of HDD’s moving parts. My 2014 iMac has such a drive. It failed after about 3 years. I had it replaced. But, I'm currently booting from an external SSD and it works great. My Time Machine backup is to a 4TB RDHD.

It’s not that kind people don’t exist, it’s that kind people who condescendingly preach about kindness don’t exist. Most of those idiots can’t pass a first simple test of kindness, for instance viewing charitably the opinions of a political other.

@Jolly said in "Not Guilty": It's a hard question. I certainly have no problem with a doctor trying to keep a dying patient pain-free. Indeed. It's not clear from the stories I've seen how "dying" these people were. I also know that opiate tolerance is definitely there in pain management patients. So elevated doses, within reason, could be argued. Trust me. 2 grams of fentanyl is WAY beyond elevated, or reason But many of his peers felt he had crossed the line into a form of euthanasia. I have a problem with a doctor arbitrarily making these decisions, without patient input. A forever colleague of mine got into similar trouble decades ago. It was, of course, a different time, so it was handled differently. It was, however, with the patient's and family's consent. Nevertheless he was thrown off the staff of the hospital and sent to work at a "sister" site where he finished out his career.

One reason Trump rallies are fun...Trump, for all of his faults has a sense of humor. And while Trump does make fun of a lot of people, he can also poke a little fun at himself.

And just down the street from Mr. Mills place is an Italian restaurant, named Da Remo, that we used to frequent. It was a great place, we would get 8 or 10 guys and spend several hours eating, drinking and smoking in the back room. We were mostly Americans just in the UK for work, so no wives to stop us from staying out late. We left huge tips and they loved us. Denham Village is a great place. Now that I think about it, there was a house rented by 5 or 6 guys just down the street from Da Remo. It had a regulation size (large) Snooker table. We spent a lot of time hanging around that table.
