I still think alcohol prevents COVID. I didn't get it for three years, then I go to a funeral without any and BAM! Go get a shot! [image: pouring-whiskey-on-the-rocks.jpg?quality=90]

I could probably remember the lyrics to most of those. I probably couldn’t even recognize a top 20 song of the last 15 years.

@Jolly said in World Leaders Walk: Notice...Obama, Trump and Zelenski all swagger. While Biden staggers. Like his voters do, under the weight of guilt and shame for supporting him.

Yes, she is a brand. But how far will that get you. It couldn't get McCain elected to anything past Senator in his state, and to give the devil his due, McCain did take care of issues at home. McCain was the darling of the media world...You couldn't turn on a Sunday political show or CNN, and not see McCain. Then, he ran for President and for the most part, they turned on him.

@LuFins-Dad said in "You're fired.": @Horace said in "You're fired.": I can't figure out if King's take was shade on the show. No, King’s got pretty partisan blinders… I got that impression from his programmed woke response to JK Rowling. But I didn't really know how deeply ignorant he was. Being a fanboi of Brian Stelter sure settles that question.

I have weird dreams all. The. Time. Last night, I met Jordan Peterson on a pirate ship. Like, it was still modern day—he was in a suit—but we were on a historic pirate ship. We started talking about surgeries, and it turns out we had the same procedure done: we had something removed through our back. (I forget what it was except to say outside of dream-world it was definitely nonsense.) He had something about it he wanted to show me, so he took his shirt off and showed me this massive, gnarly scar that ran over the course of his back. But that wasn't the weird thing. The weird thing was his back tattoo. It was ginormous, from his shoulders all the way on downward. It looked very much Escher's lizard tessellations, except really cubist, like if Picasso did them instead. The tattoos moved like the Illustrated Man. Then I woke up. I usually don't share these things.

@George-K said in Phillip K. Dick foretold it: Using our algorithm, you can say that next Wednesday, on the intersection of 37th Street and Southwestern Avenue, there would be homicide. Somebody who understands this stuff better than I would have to comment, but: Say there's a perpetrator, Joe, who commits liquor store robberies. He's never caught in the act. His modus operandi includes leaving a dandelion at the scene (because Joe is a little weird). So there's a new liquor store robbery and the police find a dandelion. Within minutes they track down Joe, who doesn't have a useful alibi. They arrest him -- success! Only it turns out that an enemy of Joe's set him up, doing the heist and leaving the dandelion. Joe goes to prison and the copycat goes free. This model didn't work so well for Joe, did it?

There is a lot like that that can and is done for indigent patients. Universal coverage addicts never want to acknowledge the huge amount of free or very low cost care that is provided on a daily basis. I think where we get into difficulty is with the working poor.
