@Mik said in "Jon, Quit Defending Trump": But seriously, this is why discussing politics on mainstream social media is always a bad idea. (I don't consider TNCR mainstream social media) To quote Barbara Bush: I should think not! But yeah, discussing politics or anything requiring more than a soupcon of brains on social media is a bad idea.

@Horace said in Ring Around the Posie: It's mostly the realization that the conservatives seem to be against it. From there, the tribal religion kicks in. Yes that is a good point. It's more important to fight the conservative culture (for me, this seemed to start with GWB but it's also when I started paying attention).

@Copper said in Clean it yourself: I remember when you could check your airline baggage for free. Soon hotels will charge by the cube for ice. These little tricks are just a way to make the initial cost look more attractive. It was never free, we just didn't see it itemized.

All this keeps Mr. Trump in the news - as a defendant or potential defendant. If you are a TDS type, this will confirm your conviction.

How different were the young men and women of the Middle Ages from today's adolescents? It's hard to judge from the available information, says Goldberg. About the same as they are now, presumably. Adults are the ones who would think and feel fundamentally differently, depending on culture. Kids haven't had time to be fully programmed yet.

AI will in fact be a solution for this. You no longer need more people to contribute to the economy.

You're left with the definite feeling of this guy seeing an opportunity. He'd had an earlier claim against her for 3.1 million overturned by a judge, and now he's come back with this one.

Good for him. Though the stakes aren’t all that high given there is a special counsel.

I could see some applications, such as airplane paint. But what about building exteriors? As thin as this stuff is, will it last for years without cracking or peeling?

@George-K said in Modular: Rather than dissing on how Linus is presenting this, any thoughts on the actual subject of his video? People scream about the lack of customization and upgradability of Apple's (and increasingly other compainies') products. Framework seems to be a viable solution to this. If you like Windows, that is. I think it sounds like a great idea, and the fact that Linus is so positive about it speaks volumes, at least for me.

OK, I'm intrigued enough. I'll seek it out. From IMDB: "There are two hundred different alien species in this movie. Writer, producer, and director Luc Besson wrote a six hundred-page book describing in detail all the species. The actors had to read that book prior to filming so they could adjust their performances, depending upon the species with whom they were interacting." I didn't know that this was the same guy that did The Fifth Element. I enjoyed that movie....
