"Jon, Quit Defending Trump"

I made a mistake by sort of violating my own rule. Those of you on FB know I don't talk politics there. Doing so is like the combination of talking politics at work, a class reunion, and a family wedding - a bad idea all around.
Occasionally I might weigh in on some factual clarification, but even that I try to do without a partisan valence. This is all the more important with my role at the Foundation.
So a friend from high school posted about the Trump/Daniels/Manhattan DA stuff, and said "I think he used campaign money to pay her off and then lied about it".
I posted this factual correction, and look at the response.

One of my retirement plans is to become a FB "educator".
Mrs. Phibes once had to shut me down from a discussion with some guy who didn't know me as 'my family can see this, you know!' Admittedly, I had got a little carried away, and was on the verge of using some rather ornate terminology.

But seriously, this is why discussing politics on mainstream social media is always a bad idea.
(I don't consider TNCR mainstream social media)

(I don't consider TNCR mainstream social media)To quote Barbara Bush: I should think not!
But yeah, discussing politics or anything requiring more than a soupcon of brains on social media is a bad idea.
