I’m not sure if him trying to link the records falsification to a federal campaign violation (idiotic as that is, especially an uncharged campaign violation) means suddenly Congress has jurisdiction over his office.
But since the guy hasn’t issued any indictment everyone is just speculating anyway.
In the mean time consider congressional complaining about this as noise aimed at right wing infotainment channels.

Oh, I don't think it's noise. I think it's simple political muscle.
You do A, we do B.

Former NY Gov Cuomo agrees:

Nope.
Cuomo agrees with me, the case is political self-aggrandizement and a huge stretch legally - not a yoga stretch, a Gumby stretch.
However he didn’t express an opinion on whether and under what circumstances Congress can have oversight over a county DA office, which is what this thread is about.

When you wander into Federal election law, especially after the Feds think no charges should be brought, a local DA does so at his peril.
Congress is fixin' to drag him to Washington and peril him, if need be.
Or...Do not mix in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

All this keeps Mr. Trump in the news - as a defendant or potential defendant.
If you are a TDS type, this will confirm your conviction.
