@taiwan_girl said in Question for Boris: I think cats normally do NOT like water. Is this correct? Mostly they're indifferent. Maine Coons, however, are known for being "hydrophilic" if you will.

@Mik said in Jungle Rescue: I’d love to hear more. Not only did they survive, but a 13 year old led them to it, I presume. Yeah, me too. That is amazing, especially being able to keep the 11 month old alive.

@George-K said in Argh….: LOL. You should have taken photos. In two weeks, you'll be past the "homeless bum" look; fear not. I’ve always had a quick growing beard. Tomorrow won’t be pretty, by Monday I’ll have the Miami Vice stubble going on, and the beard will be back by Saturday. I do regret not letting it go during the first months of COVID to shoot for a truly epic beard…

I still can’t wrap my head around what this looks like in the future. I do like to believe that as a whole we will see countries and societies put an end to puberty blockers and prescribing 12 year olds to a lifetime of HRT. I also think you will see more and more detransitioners, and a decade from now those numbers will effectively kill off most but not all of the trans movement. I think you will also see a slew of lawsuits against trans medical clinics and healthcare providers that started the journey… But how far does it go or should it go? Are the schools going to be cleared of the idiot teachers and administrators that promoted this crap to kids? It feels like an entire generation of teachers have been brainwashed with this crap, and I don’t think that goes away. Beyond that, you also have schools that feel it’s permissible, good, and right to keep information health and wellness information from the kids parents, placing the teachers above the parents in decisions involving their children. This is such an abhorrent breach of the trust and the compact between parents and education that I honestly can’t see how that is fixed. And what about parents? Yeah, it seems that a lot of them were duped by this whole “Dead Daughter - Living Son” argument, but a lot of them weren’t. A lot of them rejoiced in the mental and physical disfigurement of their kids. Do we see criminal charges filed? Custody removed? This is a huge frigging mess without any good path forward.

I've probably told this story before, but I had an employee who showed up at the head office 35 miles from where we both worked to tell them he was quitting after working a solid 6 weeks for me. I only found out about it 4 hours later when my boss told me. The hilarious thing was that a few years later he applied to work at a different location for the same company, presumably thinking nobody would know, but they told me. I begged them to interview him and invite me to attend, but they weren't having any of it.
