@Jolly Is Carlson not aware that Argentina has been a chronic economic basket case for the last 40 years or more?

I wonder if some Beatle’s tunes, or at least the melodies, will, over time, morph into English folk songs. Many melodies from the past do just that.

@LuFins-Dad said in Oktoberfest… And why I really don’t like other band parents: Shit. They are now asking us to lead that tailgate. I’ve never even been to a tailgate… Beer, water, chips might be enough. If you are ambitious you could grill burgers and dogs. Better to get a couple party platters from the super market. And of course a few nice desserts. Go for easy clean up because everyone will bolt when the game starts, or earlier if the band starts playing.

I do think that, in the US at least, it will be liability that slows this way down.

Manchin, Gabbard and Yang sounds like one of those dodgy lawyers offices. Well it does.

Well said LD. People often think the situation is worse than it actually is, because they are inundated by incessant negative news from across the country and the world… humans did not have to digest that type of fire hose information avalanche until recently. Social media (or the internet’s instant information of everything) makes everyone addicted, jealous, judgmental, impatient, and ironically WAY less connected. Keep things local, be a good neighbor, work hard, be kind, it’s really not that bad out there.

Dear Leader is getting a bit old for all this influence. Presumably the favored successor will be his charming offspring, Jnr. Maybe he can ditch Airforce One and build an armored train. It would help rejuvenate the steel industry.

So is San Fran. The most extreme example is the Millennium Tower. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/investigations/series/millennium-tower/san-francisco-millennium-tower-more-tilting/3249034/

The waveforms might be mostly garbage, but they look like they are nicely synchronized. It was probably plugged into the surgeon's 5-channel graphic equalizer. He was just messing with the pretty colors.

In 2017, life was normal except that I was having a lot of back pain. I went to the emergency room and a scan showed a lesion on my liver. A local gastroenterologist said it was nothing to worry about and said we’d check it in six months. What kind of scan? An ER ultrasound? I went to another doctor who said, “Let’s just go and do an MRI.” It turned out to be stage 4 colon cancer that had metastasized to my liver. Any lesion should be investigated. "Don't worry about it" is not appropriate. 4 years later there's a recurrence. If it's so big that it grown into the pelvis, you'd think that routine surveillance would have found it. Also, her symptoms of painful gas, the feeling of not emptying your bowel should have been clues. I'll wait for someone who knows more about this than me - like @bachophile , but it sounds like it was mismanaged all around.
