@LuFins-Dad said in Disney: "Our Terms of Service make us immune to this lawsuit": Everyone keeps claiming it was the Disney + waiver that Disney was arguing to take it to arbitration. It wasn’t, it was the waiver that was in the park ticket purchase, the waiver that was in the park app he downloaded, and more. NPR got it wrong? In late May, Disney's lawyers filed a motion asking the circuit court to order Piccolo to arbitrate the case — with them and a neutral third party in private, as opposed to publicly in court — and to pause the legal proceedings in the meantime. Arbitration is generally considered a more efficient and cost-effective method of resolving disputes than litigation, and Disney said explicitly in court documents that the "main benefit of arbitration is avoiding heavy litigation costs." The reason it says Piccolo must be compelled to arbitrate? A clause in the terms and conditions he signed off on when he created a Disney+ account for a monthlong trial in 2019. Family files lawsuit in case of teen who died after eating spicy chip Those terms of use — which users must acknowledge to create an account — state that "any dispute between You and Us, Except for Small Claims, is subject to a class action waiver and must be resolved by individual binding arbitration." Disney says Piccolo agreed to similar language again when purchasing park tickets online in September 2023. Whether he actually read the fine print at any point, it adds, is "immaterial." "Piccolo ignores that he previously created a Disney account and agreed to arbitrate 'all disputes' against 'The Walt Disney Company or its affiliates' arising 'in contract, tort, warranty, statute, regulation, or other legal or equitable basis,'" the motion reads, arguing the language is broad enough to cover Piccolo's claims.

Comeon. Nobody is pushing against having women in tech. Nobody serious is arguing against advocating for more women to be employed in the tech industry or investing into public awareness programs to attract more women to the field. We ARE demanding the end of gender-based hiring and promotion practices, targeting specific quotas, and limiting opportunities for some to promote opportunities for the less capable. Base hiring and promotion on merit.

LOL, maybe not your school, but most of my friends have HD 4K color video feeds you can view from your smart phone, and monitor baby breathing, temperature, oxygen, etc. Our monitor has a fuzzy black white image and you have to hold it up high if you're on a different floor of the house so that it gets a signal.

Ego? Guilty. Wouldn't be where he's at without it. You or I couldn't do his job. Celebrity candidate? U S. politics is littered with them, from George Washington to modern times No problem lying? No more than any other politician. It's an inherent trait of the genre, both sides of the aisle. Sexual integrity? In a European sense, yes. In an average Americans sense, no. Especially in his younger days. Good thing he's not running for pope. Criminal charges? I think any non-biased American can see through that BS.

@taiwan_girl said in Where are the Biden delegates?: Kind of like Nikki Haley and other in the Republic primary who release their delegates and told them to support President Trump. President Biden did the same thing. Not quite. Trump had won the nomination. Haley's delegates didn't amount to a warm bowl of spit. In Biden's case, he released the winning delegates. I bet today, he wishes different. Especially since it is becoming apparent he cannot politically shield his family's shenanigans anymore.

@LuFins-Dad said in Hmmmm…: You would think that an SUV opening fire on a guard station on a US Army base would bot be able to get away. Shirley you have passed by these types of main gates. And especially at 430am. Normally there are a few troops inside, probably on their phone, with a main person ready to stand up and check an ID when a vehicle pools up. Sometimes they have a vehicle next to them, not always on. If you look at the map of this place, the main gate is off of Military Road (or some name).... I can very easily see an SUV slowly drive by, open window, fire shots, and then floor it... within about 20 seconds they are lost in the grid of the city.
