@George-K said in Matt Yglesias on the way forward for Dems: @Doctor-Phibes said in Matt Yglesias on the way forward for Dems: Calming the fuck down is always a good idea IMHO. That always works when I tell my wife to "calm the fuck down," You see, I'm a theoretician, whereas you're a practitioner. Huge difference.

@89th said in The Love Warriors: Maybe it's the rejection of the value of faith, family, traditions, and community. Maybe I'm turning into a @Jolly apostle. That I believe is true. But it's important to remember that we've never had to deliberately choose to have those things like we do now. For most people, abandoning these things wasn't a conscious choice—they just have lifestyles that now would require them to put in extra work to maintain them, and we've never been in that position before. No one had to work on being part of a community, we couldn't avoid it if we wanted to. These are all slightly new problems.

Link to video A tragic car crash in Missouri yesterday was captured on a video from a neighbor's home. In the video you can see a car flying through the air at a high rate of speed before it slammed into a house. The female driver was killed in the crash. Luckily, several people who were inside the home at the time escaped injury.

@Horace True it doesn’t prove causality, but those other countries were much more flat than the US prior to the Great Recession. Our price inflation started matching theirs (as % of gdp) only after 2009-10
