@lufins-dad said in Merck pills cuts risk of hosp, death by 50%: Headline: Merck says its new Covid pill reduces the risk of hospitalization, death by half for some patients For some patients? That's a weird little qualifier... It really isn't. No drug on the planet works exactly the same across all ethnicities, ages, comorbidities, etc., etc., etc.

I suspect a huge percentage of those unvaxxed guys have natural immunity and are no more likely to be infectious as a vaxxed employee, regardless of PPE.

@doctor-phibes said in The Dumpster Fire of Humanity: If anybody says anything remotely controversial, there are generally howls of outrage from a bunch of knobheads of one form or another. What's the point of it? [Nodding.] There's a Mah-Jong game I play online . . . it's a time passer. I'm happier fiddling around on that and thinking my own thoughts than I am trapping myself in the horror hell of social media. That to me may represent the biggest disadvantage of the Internet: The grasping toward, the pursuit of, ever more stuff to know -- a greed that, like the appetite for cocaine, grows and grows and is never satisfied. A greed that is deleterious for the human mind and soul and ultimately, body; a greed humans were never meant for.

Of course. He can no longer with the guilt of this fraud that he’s helped perpetuate and is having trouble sleeping at night. It’s obvious to anybody looking for the signs. Oh, he’s not going to come out and admit the truth now, he knows better, but in 15-20 years he’ll be ready to spill the truth. Of course, he’ll die of “natural causes” just before. Just watch. If he dies in the next 15-20 years you will have proof that I was right about EVERYTHING…

to both. I was playing yesterday and Stella was fascinated by the hammers going up and down. Curiosity eventually wins out. Stella is being very good about being submissive, laying down and rolling over belly up when interacting. She just cannot understand why Luna doesn't want to play with her. But they get closer all the time. We had several nose-to-nose actions, then last night they were on either side of the scratching box. @jon-nyc said in Woman with a choice bump.: @lufins-dad said in Woman with a choice bump.: I just have never understood this argument. It’s not “their bodies”… The fetus has it’s own unique genetic blueprint, separate and different that the mother. It’s not “your body” it’s a completely separate body inside another. Me neither, and I’m pro-choice. Though I would slightly change your formulation and say it’s not just their bodies. As time passes and science advances, " my body, my choice" is rapidly losing its effectiveness. As you have pointed out, genetics points out that the baby is a unique human in its own right. As such, it inherits those natural rights bestowed upon any other person. Secondly, the age of in vitro viability has wound its way down to around 22 weeks. I am aware of a bank that had a software issue and disbursed a little over a billion dollars in payments. Fortunately it was to banking counterparties and institutional clients and every penny was returned next day.

Kate O’Brian, head of the news group for Scripps Network, told TheWrap ahead of the launch that “authenticity” is “part of the DNA” of the network: “Culturally, journalistically, professionally — we’re an authentic group.” If she was really authentic she would spell O'Brien correctly.

@lufins-dad said in I think the Bengals are going to win this one: @jolly said in I think the Bengals are going to win this one: @mik said in I think the Bengals are going to win this one: It happens in football. It's not that they are trying to injure another player but you have powerful 250 lb bodies flying around. In his prime, Ray Lewis generated about 1000 pounds of force when he hit you. Unprotected, that's bones. Welcome to the NFL... Link to video That's a lot of force to be focused on one tiny little knife... As the person on the receiving end found out...

@Jolly @jon-nyc That's not our Dakota, but close... As far as run of the house... If the burglar was female, you would probably be right, but a guy? Not a chance. We have to leash her if we have a workman in the house. She starts by tugging on their pantleg...
