Or, you can spread in a little decomposed cotton gin trash or some barnyard fertilizer, providing it isn't too hot. Corn is essentially a grass derivative. As long as you use a sustained release lawn fertilizer with just a hair of iron and no weed preventative, it will work just fine. I've done that before and probably will do so again.
