A family elder was once assigned a Toyota Crown for his personal use as part of his employment perks. My reaction at the time was, "nice," but didn't feel that the Crown was anything "special." But that was many years ago, so most likely the Crown model has improved a lot over the years (as have most other Toyota models).

I'm entertained by this thread, that is all.

I still enjoy the open room experience more. I have tried a pair of Hifiman headphones and they were the best I have ever experienced. If I ever do upgrade my Sony Pro Studio headphones, Hifiman are on the short list of brands I will be considering.

I know it will never happen, but it would have been nice if, from the beginning, batteries compartments were somehow standardized. Kind of like a light bulb outlet or something like that.

My start up goal was to have a company that provides battery swaps for cars. You never "own" the battery, just "rent" it. Electric cars would be much cheaper to buy, since you dont initially pay for the battery. You would pull into a "battery station" when your charge was down, the discharged battery would be removed, and a fully charged battery would be inserted. Zero charge time. Just like filling up your car with gas. Maybe in a parallel universe, this is happening.

New Blue Tarantula Species Discovered in Thailand

Between the sky and sea, nature appears to favor blue, as do we humans.

Yet the color is rare in nature—especially not in “a blue-violet hue resembling the color of electrical sparks,” which is how a research team described a new species of tarantula in southern Thailand. The spider, which can measure nearly three inches long, sports iridescent streaks of neon color on its legs, back, and mouthparts.

The spider, named Chilobrachys natanicharum, was already known in the pet trade as the electric blue tarantula, but a recent study published in the journal Zookeys finally confirmed it as a unique species.

For the study, Chomphuhuang and colleagues went on an expedition to the mangroves of Phang-Nga Province, searching at night in the humid, muddy vegetation for a tarantula’s telltale sign: Shroud-like webs covering its burrow

Yep. Back in the 70's we used to get 20 or 30 bucks for a cube-to-be. Everything else is ten times what it was then.
