I was talking about this with my uncle Bubonic, and he didn’t seem to think it was such a big deal.

ignore mongodb playground file (a219285e)
Yep, if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. If we could please ignore the goddam mongodb playground file.
(but srsly, whatever the hell that all means, thnx!)
RE: The workout thread
Ha, says the guy who rode 150 miles last week!
Garmin was being held up by some ransomware attack, and I was too lazy to manually upload, so several days worth just went up at once.
But yeah, the general pattern is:
Monday--10/11 miles at 'whatever'
Tuesday--Track workout. (between warm up/cool down, active recovery and actual "work" ends up being 10-12 miles total)
Wednesday--Easy 6 or so
Thursday--A fairly 'zippy' 10/11 miles
Friday--Easy 6 or so
Sunday--10 to 15
There's generally 18-25 miles of running w/the Mrs in there also. Sometimes it's in addition to the above, or we use her run as my recovery run. Ends up being around 70 miles per week.
I'm not really sure how well how this would line up with any particular race plan, but for now I'm having fun.
Are you trying to get back into some running? Or have you been running all along, but you don't (gasp!) post it on Strava?
RE: A Union Civil War statue even you unreconstructed rebels can get behind
@89th I see what you did there..
RE: The Shopping Cart Test
If you want to kill some time, this guy (Cart Narcs) has some entertaining (real) videos of him enforcing cart returns:
Probably the one thing that would get me to not return my cart is knowing there's some muther fucker with a camera that thinks he's gonna 'shame' me into doing so.
In any case, I think Aldis has already solved the issue. (the cart issue, not douchebaggery at large) A 25 cent deposit, and virtually all their carts get returned---not sprawled out all over the parking lot, rolling into peoples cars, etc. Great idea. Plus, if the weather sucks, I feel like leaving the cart out is simply paying for a service.
RE: Black bear sighting here
Yeah, they're adapting to live in and around human habitats.
I'm in a little more wooded area, but went to grab a tool from my moving trailer last summer and had this (not so) little visitor.
I stood there for a minute, with one hand on my overhead door, and the other trying to get a damn pic, lol. He(she? cis, nonbinary/whatevs) didn't avoid me, but did seem pretty disinterested in people. Just wanted to sniff the garbage dumpsters.
RE: Cannabis may prevent covid-19 infection according to new study
I like that the story is posted on a radio station called "The Buzz"
Claims that a certain material has "X Properties" seems to be a near universal way of saying, "Hasn't actually ever been shown to be an effective treatment."
