I mentioned several times here that a history of non-compliance will get you removed from the transplant list.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      How sad. šŸ˜ž

Should not have been just involuntary manslaughter.

Agreed. What a sad thing for the kid to go through all that, and be stuck with parents like that.

              Looks like a winner

Yeah when she said the kid missed two doses per week, you know it was way more than that. That’s like asking a drunk driver how many drinks they’ve had ā€œoh one or twoā€ is usually the false answer

Who’s the other victim, the surgeon? Sorry it’s late and I’m tired.

Consider the contrast between the donor and these miscreant parents. One could hardly think them the same species.

Ah yes. The donor. My FIL got a kidney transplant in July and I've become very familiar with the anti-rejection regiment and requirements. He's actually back at Mayo right now because his white bloodcell count is lower than expected, they think maybe an infection somewhere.

Yeah, that's an even bigger deal.

Also, imagine how the parents of the donor feel.

I doubt they know who received it. Jon? But I still feel it. I have a friend who's on the heart transplant list. She's been living with an LVAD for over a year now.

Yeah, I'm not sure - but somebody who used to post here did know who he'd received his from. It was a big deal to him.

Right, so for HIPPA reasons the hospitals don’t share info.

However, the recipient can send a letter to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) who will pass it along to the donor family, which may or may not respond.

                                    That’s what happened with KB

I can’t see these parents doing that.

Yeah, I can't either. At this point I'd first question their literacy, the ability to actually do that. If they passed that I can think of a whole lot of other reasons why they wouldn't.

There should have been better oversight and quick intervention. What good does time in jail do, or some sort of other penalty. Nada
