Trump to be indicted - again.

@Jolly said in Trump to be indicted - again.:
BTW, he can wave the documents around as much as he wants or he can talk about them being secret. Neither is a violation.
True waving it around wouldn’t make him guilty of sharing classified info.
But waving them around makes it clear that he possesses them which is illegal. The timing of the tape (after repeatedly telling the feds he doesn’t have them) establishes willfulness AND obstruction AND lying to the feds. And the confession that he could have declassified it but didn’t undermines his former claims that he had done so.
So yeah, this is enough to put the orange man in orange dress.

Just as an exercise, have you ever considered any politician as something other than an idiot?
I don't think he considered Thatcher an idiot.
On whether one ever considers any politician as something other than an idiot, you can also throw in, say, Winston Churchill or Ronald Reagan or King Solomon.
1000 wives? Solomon was an idiot.

Plans? What plans?
Now he says he didn't have any classified documents, he was just waving around papers from his desk.
Asked about his use of the word “plans” during a Fox News interview earlier Tuesday to describe some items he may have highlighted in the 2021 meeting, Trump insisted he was referring to “building plans” and plans for golf courses strewn about his desk.
“Did I use the word plans?” he said. “What I’m referring to is magazines, newspapers, plans of buildings. I had plans of buildings. You know, building plans? I had plans of a golf course.”
Asked if he had any regrets about his handling of classified documents, Trump said he did not.
“No, I have no regrets,” he said. “I didn't have a classified document. There was no classified document on my desk.”

Well, there are multiple reports of Trump brandishing (yeah, that's a good word) a classified document, and it being caught on tape.
If this is the tape, and if this is the document being talked about, it's not in the indictment. Therefore it's irrelevant other than a mens rea argument. This is not evidence.

LOL. Hanging on to the dire end. And this is just the preamble to the biggest American criminal trial in history coming up next. Stock up on the popcorn. This is going to be such a good show.
-
@NobodySock good to see you!
How did that Russian collusion thing work out for you, by the way?
-
Contrary to popular belief, most Trump supporters did not in fact vote for him in order to watch him burn the country down. Unfortunately, TDS sufferers are at a place where they will joyfully watch the country burn, as long as Trump is caught in the inferno.

Guess not.

Yep.
Never seen anything like it. It's been said of Trump that he is a mirror, allowing people to see what they really are.
Sure are some shriveled souls out there, charred by hate.

More charges?
The team of federal prosecutors working under Special Counsel Jack Smith is currently prepared to add an “additional 30 to 45 charges” in addition to the 37-count indictment brought against Mr Trump on 8 June, either in a superseding indictment in the same Florida court or in a different federal judicial district. In either case, they would do so using evidence against the ex-president that has not yet been publicly acknowledged by the department, including other recordings prosecutors have obtained which reveal Mr Trump making incriminating statements.
Additionally, it is understood that Mr Smith’s team is ready to bring charges against several of the attorneys who have worked for Mr Trump, including those who aided the ex-president in his push to ignore the will of voters and remain in the White House despite having lost the 2020 election.
One of those figures is Mr Trump’s erstwhile personal attorney, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Maybe there’s something to be gleaned from the fact that his supporters attempt to pathologize criticism of Trump rather than defend him.
Last I checked, you denied the existence of TDS. It is hardly a novel insight that righteous hatred of an out group, blinds.

Glean hard, my friend. Glean hard.
