Interesting… Momentum has shifted sharply in Nevada and GA, and while Fetterman is leading in PA still, RCP is projecting PA going R now. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2022/senate/elections-map-rcp-projection.html The polls since the Student Loan issue came to the front have shifted sharply. I know the public opinion polls state that the majority support the plan, but that has not been my experience… Even a lot of Democrats I know are bitching about it…

I recall seeing several telegrams. They were sent for birthdays or new babies or some other event. They might have been cheaper than a long-distance phone call, I forget exactly how the prices compared. But the prices were high enough so you would think about reducing the number of words. The singing telegraphs were fun - the delivery boy would sing the contents of the telegram.

If I do this, I would invest in a better sound system and pick better music.

They had Dalton and let him walk. Basically, I'm all in favor of the Cowgirls getting stomped this year. Jerry wants Payton so bad, he's willing to give up the compensatory draft picks that it's going to take to get him. A losing record just gives Jerry more incentive.

Really glad to hear the majority of your health problems are behind you, Cats - I hope everything continues to be good. Rainman - sincere best wishes to you. I'm hoping you can make it back here from time to discuss Mr. Farage, if nothing else.

That's cool. "The sun gave birth to him." Years ago, I listened to a course on the Old Testament. The lecturer commented that "Moses" has the same root as Ramses. Also, according to the lecturer, it has relevance to being "out of the water" which fits with the birth story of Moses. Not sure if that's true, but I found it interesting nevertheless. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moses An Egyptian root msy ('child of') has been considered as a possible etymology, arguably an abbreviation of a theophoric name, as for example in Egyptian names like Thutmoses ('child of Thoth') and Ramesses ('child of Ra'), with the god's name omitted. Abraham Yahuda, based on the spelling given in the Tanakh, argues that it combines "water" or "seed" and "pond, expanse of water," thus yielding the sense of "child of the Nile" (mw-š). However, Kenneth Kitchen argued that an Egyptian origin for the name was unlikely, as the sounds in the Hebrew m-š-h do not correspond to the pronunciation of Egyptian msy in the relevant time period.[26] The biblical account of Moses' birth provides him with a folk etymology to explain the ostensible meaning of his name. He is said to have received it from the Pharaoh's daughter: "he became her son. She named him Moses [מֹשֶׁה, Mōše], saying, 'I drew him out [מְשִׁיתִֽהוּ, mǝšīṯīhū] of the water'."[28][29] This explanation links it to the Semitic root משׁה, m-š-h, meaning "to draw out". The eleventh-century Tosafist Isaac b. Asher haLevi noted that the princess names him the active participle 'drawer-out' (מֹשֶׁה, mōše), not the passive participle 'drawn-out' (נִמְשֶׁה, nīmše), in effect prophesying that Moses would draw others out (of Egypt); this has been accepted by some scholars.[

We record everything that has commercials - never watch live - even the news. We watch after a 12 minute delay to ensure we can zoom through the commercials. I'd say Ghosts is a decent show. It's not a "must see" - but worth watching.

And the authorities could not figure out why they could only find $1000 from all the money he took.

@Mik said in In Oz: Probably like California. Lots of outdoor school facilities. Southern California + Georgian architecture + 1985 = Australia.
