@Jolly said in Ain't nuthin' like fresh...: I guess Sugar Snaps could have a different color flower, but the sugar peas I grow (Little Marvel, Arrow) have a white bloom that looks like this: [image: OIP.Z80xmAVhJYUt5fTzAkzrBQHaEK?w=331&h=186&c=7&r=0&o=5&pid=1.7] Those are first blooms. As time goes on, you see a lot more. If you're lucky, each bloom sets a pea pod. In 60 days, you ought to be looking at your first picking, at least. I had to pull my peas early this year. I didn't stake them or put them on a net (that will never happen again) and with all the rain we've had, the vines started to rot at the bottom. Any pea pod in contact with the ground started to rot. So we pulled the whole thing out of the bed and picked the peas that way. Lost at least a half-bushel of peas that were rotted. Lost anything that wasn't filled out and they were still blooming, even as they were dying. I got a bushel of good peas and they shelled out about a gallon and a quart. They keep better canned, but we just blanched and froze these. Still not bad at all! Something must have gone wrong with my plants. I'll wait it out, but I did see some rot at the bottom already. They may be at end of life. They are called Super Snappy, and I chose them because they are not supposed to need support.

Call me a naive old fool, but I've had a full beard for 40 of my 73 years. Problem solved.

Personally, I'm tickled to death. Businesses shouldn't take political stances. I'm hoping the Bud Light fiasco becomes the chatter of the day in C-level offices and in corporate board rooms. Maybe businesses ought to focus on being more efficient, creating better products, trying to encourage productivity and making money.

I don’t think anyone considers “banned” to mean the same thing in 2023 as it did back when the Christians were culturally ascendant (e.g., ‘banned in Boston’). But sure, agree on definitions first or qualify it (e.g. banned from the curriculum, banned from the library, etc)

This seems like a healthy dimension of competition for political parties to engage in.

A couple of well placed nukes would eliminate our ship building capability. And probably my house.

@Jolly said in Hay Cats! Your "Practice Firearm Safety" post of the day: I also don't see any dirt fly up from muzzle blast and I don't see the gun recoil when it supposedly goes off. Good catch.

Coonasses don't measure beer by cans, they measure by how many cases they drank.

Biden's immortal "you ain't black if you vote for Trump" is a good example. White liberals are more than happy to call white conservatives evil if we have an opinion that supposes black people might be conservative. But they would be completely unequipped to have a conversation with an actual black conservative. And that's why those conversations never, ever happen.
