@Doctor-Phibes It’s a craft beer vibe, but if we see one called “Tranny Fluid” we’ll send a case to your house.

@Axtremus said in Does Doordash charge iPhone users more?: Apple, Inc. charges commissions for “in-app purchases.” That commission may go as high as 30%. Not for physical goods - like food. At least not a few years ago, that might have changed, but I doubt it.

It is a high-stress environment. It doesn't take many cranky, dehydrated children to stir things up.

@Mik said in Warhol, Prince, Goldsmith... and AI.: So it's a good thing. A very good thing. Yeah, I think so. Basically, AI can be great if you're doing the work yourself and it speeds up your nuts and bolts gruntwork. It creates crap when you let it do your thinking for you. It creates evil crap when you use other people's work as reference. Honestly, it's a shame our government works in the way that it does. Usually assessing new problems and challenges as they come up works just fine, but we can't wait on any of this, or things are going to get very nasty for a whole lot of people, very quickly.

What should a writer be paid and what should a streaming show cost? Couple of opposites... Hallmark movies. Often made for just over $1M, total. The Expanse series. $2-$5M per episode.

@Jolly I have been following this story since it was announced around 2016 that a new movie was in the works. It has now been out for a couple of years already and is apparently available on DVD. I have yet to see it. It seems to be one of those movies people either loathe or love. Given the Oliver Stone like character of the director I think I would fall into the former category. I’d still give it a watch because of the subject, T. E. Lawrence. As for whether Lawrence was murdered? No, I don’t buy it at all. Here is a more current article on the subject: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10088407/amp/Film-makers-bid-dig-truth-Lawrence-Arabias-death.html

@Jolly said in The Fungus Among Us: Surgical and dental procedures are a cottage industry down there. Mrs. George tells me that she's several stories about the dentists using sub-par materials for fillings.
