MAGAt vermin. Good riddance. The sentence was far too severe.

DeSantis and Ramaswamy are leaning into the culture wars, which is why I presume Yglesias buckets them together. Why do you put Scott there? I will have to look more into him, but my initial reading is that he is a "nice" Donald Trump. A lot of the same viewpoints and "rhetoric" but spoken politely and without name calling. Difficult to make any sense of this without specific viewpoints or rhetoric you're referring to.

Having spent plenty of time near and around Mexican campesinos this photo is either an extreme outlier or entirely staged. [image: 1694287965255-img_0324.jpeg]

Marshall was pretty good during WW2 at identifying talent and had absolutely no patience with commanders who could not produce. Lots of guys got relieved and replaced with more competent leaders, as Marshall saw fit. The American Army got a lot better, a lot faster, than many people thought they could, because of how fast their command structure improved. I'm not sure we have that kind of time during the next major war.

It doesn't tend to increase in real value, but it doesn't tend to lose, either.

Not a bad idea, but the devil, as always, is in the details. How are the boards populated? How do you avoid corruption? Nothing about that in the article.

@George-K @Horace I agree. Statistics can be made to made to follow a narrative that you want it to follow. But, I have not seen anything that says that, OVERALL, the Jan 6 people were treated worse than the BLM protestors. What is that meme that is posted occasionally here - "Change My Mind" 555 EDIT: Here is on that says that the Jan 6 protestors are treated worse. https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2021/09/09/realclearinvestigations_jan_6-blm_comparison_database_791370.html A pretty good analysis of the BLM protests https://acleddata.com/acleddatanew/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/ACLED_USDataReview_Sum2020_SeptWebPDF_HiRes.pdf

Well, they're trying to take it down by 19 tons. I don't think Ms. Abrams is that much overweight.
