I have Steinberg's (Cubase) app titled, "Dorico Elements 4" that does this. Not saying it's "super easy", but it is easy enough I suppose. I hooked up my Alesis VX49 MIDI controller just now to see how easy it was to use. I don't use it enough to remember how to do anything so, this was a good test. I played a half hearted attempt at a small segment of the Goldberg Variations Aria here on a 49 key keyboard on my desk. This is what it produced. [image: 1698713786939-dorico4_goldbergsaria.png]

Sherman would have been there with a blowtorch. Grant I think would find it disgraceful.

@taiwan_girl said in Yep, he needed to be arrested...: @Doctor-Phibes said in Yep, he needed to be arrested...: The police are damned if they do, and damned if they don't, and these problems are really easy to solve in hindsight. Yup. He guy, who lived in Utah, made a direct threat against President Biden. President Biden was coming to to his area in the next few days. I don't think there is the good opportunity to just wait for him for a better chance to arrest him. Oh, bushwa. In the first place, the Secret Service does those investigations. They don't normally knock the house down. If you're worried about Biden coming to town, put the guy under surveillance. Same apprehension rules apply. If you wish to have police with submachine guns, riding around on tanks and armored personel carriers for every nut job, maybe we need to rething our approach to policing. Or a country.

https://nypost.com/2023/10/29/opinion/anatomy-of-a-biden-family-coverup-executed-by-our-own-fbi-and-doj/ Closed door testimony by former Pittsburgh US Attorney Scott Brady to the Judiciary Committee last week is a chilling case study of how credible corruption allegations against Joe Biden and his family were covered up by the FBI and DOJ — before and after the 2020 election. Brady’s testimony fits a pattern revealed by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley last week, in which over 40 confidential human sources gave information to the FBI, over several years, about potential criminal activity involving the president, his brother James and son Hunter. In a blistering letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland Wednesday, Grassley alleged ongoing efforts “among certain Justice Department and FBI officials to improperly delay and stop full and complete investigative activity into the Biden family.” https://www.grassley.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/grassley_to_justice_deptfbi1023followup.pdf

Former President Donald Trump complained about "disloyal" people in politics, as he called on his former Vice President Mike Pence to endorse him. "People are leaving now, and they're all endorsing me. I don't know about Mike Pence. He should endorse me," Trump said at an event in Las Vegas on Saturday, CNN reported. "Because I had a great, successful presidency, and he was the vice president, he should endorse me. I chose him, made him vice president. But people in politics can be very disloyal. I've never seen anything like it." Pence was Trump's loyal ally throughout his presidency, but their relationship soured when the vice president refused to help overturn the results of the 2020 election. During the January 6 attacks on the Capitol, some rioters chanted "hang Mike Pence," and Trump later defended them.

A Hong Kong court has dropped charges against an American politician who turned himself in to customs authorities after bringing a gun into the city’s airport in what he called “an honest mistake.” Washington State Senator Stephen Jeff Wilson appeared at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was acquitted of “possession of arms without a license.” Instead he was given a 24-month “bind-over” where the charge was withdrawn and the defendant agreed to a good behavior order. Wilson’s firearm was also confiscated. Both prosecution and defense lawyers argued that this was a special case, citing Wilson’s self-declaration at the Hong Kong customs and his admission to possessing a firearm by mistake during questioning. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/30/asia/hong-kong-jeff-wilson-firearms-charge-acquitted-intl-hnk/index.html

@Horace said in Assistance needed in the toilet paper aisle...: @Axtremus said in Assistance needed in the toilet paper aisle...: @George-K said in Assistance needed in the toilet paper aisle...: Imagine the cost of having employees running around, fetching items for your shopping cart. Amazon.com Thanks for the link, looks like an interesting business model. I hope they do well. Too funny. But to the topic, it is quite sad. And people are so clueless that they are only (in the long term) hurting themselves. As@mik says, stores close down, and then people complain about why there are no stores in their area. Don't blame the stores, blame your neighbors.

Cool article. Thanks!! Way back when, I am not so sure I would have had the faith to self poison, but there was a lot of strange (at least today we think it is strange) things that they did as cures or prevention.

@Jolly said in Abysmal: It'll probably bounce up, middle of flu season, but people have spoken with their feet, er, arms. I think they're right. Unless you're over 65 with comorbidities, I'm not sure the benefits outweigh the risks. That’s incorrect, though the risks might well outweigh the benefits in adolescent males. The issue is people (correctly) conclude that the benefits are minuscule, as are the risks, so they don’t bother. I understand that.

@Mik said in AI does war propaganda: We will have no reliable sources of truth. "Won't be nothin' you can measure anymore..." I'm actually not freaked out by this. Even just a year ago, photography was more than a century old and we were all still so ignorant of how photographs can lie to you. Especially without Photoshop. Now, it's getting obvious that real-looking things are anything but. We're developing the skepticism we should've had 100 years ago. But no, that doesn't take AI off the hook.
